Available in Bahasa: Click Here

The Jakarta Society is certainly very excited to welcome this great culinary event to be held from 16-19 November 2017 in Senayan City, South Jakarta. JCF will take place with many tenants and interesting culinary activities. Well, on the night of November 15, I had the opportunity to attend Opening event which was attended by 6 Star Chef who joined in this JCF event.
The event was held at SKYE which is one of the highest rooftop restaurant in Jakarta. There is an outdoor-concept lounge area overlooking stunning Jakarta skyline, and there is also a large restaurant area with exclusive and elegant interiors. Dark colors dominate the whole restaurant, so it's dark enough at night to take pictures.
The 6 Star Chef here will serve every mainstay of their cuisine for customers. The atmosphere is quite crowded and enthusiastic so felt, while waiting for the first dish presented, i enjoy the stunning view from the 56th floor and I happen to get a spot near the window.
The first menu with the names Are They Called Stinky Beans? a quite interesting menu made by Chef Eelke Plasmeijer comes from Locavore restaurant, Bali. The incoming restaurant is in the list of 50 Best Asia is very famous. The stinky bean dish served on top of Shitake Mushroom with a flower-like presentation is so beautiful. Typical stinky bean flavors provide a sensation combined with a solid shitake texture and delicious shitake pesto.
The second menu is Beet Cured Salmon made by Chef Ryan Clift from Tippling Club, Singapore with the order no.27th on 50 Best Asia Restaurant. The stunning presentation is evident in this dish, the beet used to be a beautiful element and garnish with a dominant taste. Cured salmon with a professional technique that creates a soft, cool and juicy texture.
Each dish is served with a varied wine pairing to provide a more perfect dinner experience. Next, we were presented with Brenebon by one of the Indonesian senior chef, Vindex Tengker, of course quite familiar to the us in Indonesia. This is a typical Manado food, red bean soup served with a oxtail and foie gras dumplings. The red bean soup was thick, the dark color tasted sweet, with the tender oxtail. It's just a layer of dumpling skin feels quite thick, but for the taste is quite tasty and delicious.
The time comes for a typical Indian dish that is Lemon Chili Prawn served by Chef Manjunath Mural who running a Song Of India, Singapore with 1 Michelin star. A shrimp dish with a brightly colored curry sauce with a rich, savory taste. Served with briyani rice that has a delicious rice texture and tasty herbs.
After India, this time we were invited to the Philippines with a Teardrop dish made by Chef Chele Gonzalez from Gallery Vask which also entered the list of 50 Best Asia Restaurant. No less interesting, Tuna Cheeks served on wheat with good nutrition for the body of course, other than that, delicious taste and level of tuna that fits perfectly.
After some amazing menu, we were finally served with a dessert made by Chef James Ephraim from Mozaic, Bali. The famous restaurant with gastronomic techniques is very popular with its unquestionable reputation. Varlrhona Jivara Chocolate Pavẻ, a gorgeous chocolate dessert served with mandarin sorbet that has a fresh flavor. The sweetness and sour taste of the two elements is perfect combination.
This dinner experience is a stunning moment, with classy dishes that not only look beautiful, but taste that appeals. In addition, it must have known that Skye offers a luxurious executive dining with an elegant atmosphere and a stunning view of Jakarta's icon. For you who are curious about these 6 star chef creation, you sure must visit the Jakarta Culinary Feastival start from 16th to 19th Nov 2017. So see you there!

Tom's by Tom Aikens, The Langham Jakarta

Bahasa l English A sunny weekend where the pandemic conditions in Indonesia have been getting better lately. Activities in public spaces are getting normal, so we can find some places with crowds. One of them is this restaurant which took a few weeks for me to make a reservation in advance because it was full every weekend. The Langham Jakarta has only been operating this year and has attracted great enthusiasm from Jakarta's community. No exception with the restaurant which was built with a luxurious British concept and developed by a chef from England, Tom Aikens who manages a Michelin Star restaurant in London. Carrying the name Tom's by Tom Aikens with a variety of classic British dishes. The location of this restaurant is on the L floor, the reception area, and arguably the 62nd floor. A restaurant with a large enough area capacity, high ceilings, touches of white, blue, red sofas, and gold-tone lamps give the room an English-style atmosphere. Seen quite crowded visitors ...

Real Ingredients of Japan, Sushi Maru, PIK, Jakarta

Bahasa l English 2022 is here! Welcoming the new year with joy and enthusiasm. This time I will tell you about a Japanese restaurant in the Golf Island area, PIK which is currently one of the trending destinations in Jakarta. It is undeniable that Japanese cuisine has indeed become one of Jakarta's society's favorites, so many Japanese restaurants can be found here. As a lover of authentic food, I really prefer Japanese restaurants that prioritize quality ingredients and classic tastes, although the current twist food variant is also very interesting. Sushi Maru has been operating since the end of 2021, with a Japanese feel in general using a wooden theme interior throughout the area. There are two floors with a large area capacity. But keep in mind, you should make a reservation before coming here, especially on weekends. One of the top menus here is Japanese Oyster, especially Reiwa Oyster, this dish is only available upon request. With a size that is much larger than the lo...
