Altitude Grill, The Plaza, Central Jakarta

Available in Bahasa: Click Here

This is one of the cool spots in Jakarta with views of Hotel Indonesia Roundabout which became icon of city. Altitude Grill presents an exciting new concept with a menu variant that is worth a try. A considerable change from both the concept, the menu and the interior of the restaurant. The room looks more spacious and retains the exclusive theme and dark colors that give it a touch of elegance.
This time my visit is in the framework of the opening where the Altitude Grill will officially operate on November 19th, 2017. In this event, various influencers, publishers and media participated in tasting food and looked very enthusiastic.
Together with Chef Gary, Executive Chef of Altitude Grill, he serves a variety of tempting dishes. Starting from the appetizer, Grilled Watermelon Salad. The color of a beautiful red watermelon slice looks like a tuna, served along with feta cheese, arugula and balsamic. Beautiful presentations with elemental variants that create a fresh flavor.
Followed by the appetizer Scallops Filled Squid Rings are very tempting. Scallop with a size large enough placed in the middle of a piece of squid with the right color of maturity and smoky on it. Then comes with a dressing made from a mixture of pancetta, raspberry bacon jam and parsley shallot plush. The taste is savory and slightly salty very good.
The next appetizer menu is Apple Mango prawn cocktail. Serve bright shrimp with sliced mango, cream sauce and ebiko in a beautiful cocktail glass. The taste of fresh shrimp blends perfectly with other elements.
After seafood, followed by a fairly heavy appetizer that is triple cooked wagyu ox tongue. Ox tongue with a seductive brown color is served along with hazelnut cream dukkah. Fat oxtail melt and tender texture of meat is very delicious. This became my favorite menu.
After several appetizers, we proceeded to the main course and started with the Baked Salted Hollandaise Black Cod Oven. Serve the cod with a holladaise sauce spray on it and a bright purple sweet potato sauce underneath and complete with a few pieces of asparagus. Soft cod texture, with the right seasoning, combined with sweet potato sauce that is very sweet.
Followed by a star this evening is Bisteca A La Altitudine, a large and tempting T Bone Wagyu piece. A beautiful brown color with a bright red layer of meat. However, due to the level of the medium, so the meat is rather hard. In accordance with the Executive Chef's explanation, Gary, he said it should be served medium rare, but to adjust the market of Jakarta which in fact prefers the medium meat.
In addition to T Bone, we are also served with Picanha, wagyu cat rump meat roasted paint so the color is brownish. I feel this meat is very tender with seasoning that are not excessive to make the original taste of meat is felt. During enjoying the main menu, we can also order a variety of side dish such as mashed potato, confit shallot or fragrant truffle fries.
Altitude Grill will certainly be a culinary destination that you must visit. With elegant and exclusive concept make this restaurant very famous for society of Jakarta. Not only enjoy a variety of delicious dishes, but we also can feel the sensation of dinner with city view of Jakarta from a stunning spot up there.

Phoenix Gastrobar, Newest Aesthetic Lounge, Pantai Indah Kapuk, Jakarta

Bahasa l English Back to writing a blog, okay while I had time to break after the festive season in last December 2022. In 2023, of course, I hope to be able to actively blog again with the latest and interesting information that I think is memorable to convey. So like this bar that just opened in the Pantai Indah Kapuk area of Jakarta. Phoenix Gastrobar, a new concept presented by HWG, is one of the newest brands by the pioneers in the restaurant, bar, and club industry today. Next to each other between the two clubs presented before, are Tiger & Dragon Bar. The concept offered at Phoenix is completely different from previous HWG outlets. First I'll say the interior is absolutely stunning, with 3 story bar & lounge with stairs that reminds me of Hogwarts, the school in the Harry Potter movies. There is a DJ booth in the main area, a fountain that gives an elegant impression, and a bar station with a magnificent display rack of dozens of liquor. If you have frequently visi

Tom's by Tom Aikens, The Langham Jakarta

Bahasa l English A sunny weekend where the pandemic conditions in Indonesia have been getting better lately. Activities in public spaces are getting normal, so we can find some places with crowds. One of them is this restaurant which took a few weeks for me to make a reservation in advance because it was full every weekend. The Langham Jakarta has only been operating this year and has attracted great enthusiasm from Jakarta's community. No exception with the restaurant which was built with a luxurious British concept and developed by a chef from England, Tom Aikens who manages a Michelin Star restaurant in London. Carrying the name Tom's by Tom Aikens with a variety of classic British dishes. The location of this restaurant is on the L floor, the reception area, and arguably the 62nd floor. A restaurant with a large enough area capacity, high ceilings, touches of white, blue, red sofas, and gold-tone lamps give the room an English-style atmosphere. Seen quite crowded visitors
