Martabak Bangka Akim, Tanjung duren, West Jakarta

Martabak, A classic Indonesian typical pancake with various of fillings. Nowadays we have many kind of martabak in different shape, start from the classic one, pizza slices or even now roll martabak. One of spot i could recommended in around Tanjung Duren, West Jakarta.

As you know this street is fulled of eatery with various of cuisines. No wonder almost every moment, this street absolutely have heavy gridlock on the street. Actually Martabak Akim has been opened for quite time, i couldn't remember though when exactly my first visit here. Now it stand along together with other outlet as well.

This is absolutely modest eatery around the street with bunch of chairs and tables, but for your note, this place is crowded by waiting customers. In this moment, i even have to wait about a hour to get my turn. Since many customers, also the process of making is quite take time and the lady working by herself.

At this chance, i am going to try the Banana Roll Martabak. It is quite unique but still classic. As you know, this time has many choices of flavor you may choose for martabak, could be classic ones or the even the weirdest flavor. Basically this is classic yellow dough pancake pour on hot pan and cooked for a while with sugar and bunch of banana slices.

It took about 15 minutes to get it done, as mentioned making this is not an easy piece though. The lady need to make sure doung is perfectly steady and balanced, unless it would be messed. After it done, martabak is ready to get in wooden pan for dressing.

First, start by the butter. The stunning golden yellow of butter almost covered up the dough. I guess it is a way to put up more taste and rich of dish. After that, it is ready for shredded cheese, it is sure tons of cheese here. short after that, shredded chocolate is following and condensed milk poured on it.

After all pouring are ready on dough, it is time to get it in roll. Jut by simple way, the lade seems very used to doing this for quite time. Dough rolled into a yellow tube with full of filling inside.

After it rolled, it is time to cut in another shape just like the rolled cake. As you may see, this is not common martabak long time ago. But now, many other martabak shops are doing this as well.

I must say this is looks lovely though, and in fact the martabak also really good. a lovely dough with creamy taste of cheese, chocolate and milk are blended together. Don't forget bunch of real banana slices is the star here, which is i sure absolutely taste it matched with the dough. Event though it is a modest simple eatery without a cold aircond, but the quality of food sure won't be disappointed. And i think it is much low cost food you may effort.

Bahasa l English A sunny weekend where the pandemic conditions in Indonesia have been getting better lately. Activities in public spaces are getting normal, so we can find some places with crowds. One of them is this restaurant which took a few weeks for me to make a reservation in advance because it was full every weekend. The Langham Jakarta has only been operating this year and has attracted great enthusiasm from Jakarta's community. No exception with the restaurant which was built with a luxurious British concept and developed by a chef from England, Tom Aikens who manages a Michelin Star restaurant in London. Carrying the name Tom's by Tom Aikens with a variety of classic British dishes. The location of this restaurant is on the L floor, the reception area, and arguably the 62nd floor. A restaurant with a large enough area capacity, high ceilings, touches of white, blue, red sofas, and gold-tone lamps give the room an English-style atmosphere. Seen quite crowded visitors ...
