Wild Grass, Bandung, West Java

Still about Bandung, nowadays there's many modern cafe and restaurant are spreading around this city. From top around the hills until downtown of city. Around Ciumbuleuit, here got Wild Grass

A modern restaurant with beautiful scenery. Huge house with backyard, with cement pattern whole building, wooden tables and chairs, also many oldies accessories around the house.

For better spot taking picture, i suggest choose outdoor part where you also could enjoy green space of backyard. Actually Wild Grass is offering various of fusion western cuisines. Start from salad, pizza, pasta or Indonesian foods.

First dish came out is Squid Salad. Basic vegetables salad with bunch of squids. Vegetables looks green and fresh but squid doesn't look interesting at all.

Apparently, squids not fresh enough even bit smelly which is ruin everything. They should fix it i guess. At least i have Spicy Prawn Pasta here. spicy spaghetti with bunch of prawn, salted fish and some seasoning i guess.

Prawn absolutely looks stunning, and pasta sure really spicy. Also it quite salty, i guess for some people don't really like it. But for me, i take it fine. Spicy and salty is absolutely my favorite. Next dish is Ultimate Burger. It is beef patty burger with fried potato and pineapple.

It is too much i think. Burger bun is quite nice, patty also have nice texture with extra sense by pineapple. At first it is nice actually, but take much of this you would feel used to it. Strong taste from all ingredients also heavy and too much. Next dish is also not really recommended, Asian Borscht. It is just basic tomato soup with various vegetables and slices of beef.

I was only taste a bit, nothing really special about it though. Some friends said it is just like bolognese in soupy style. Meat not much, only a lot of cauliflower. Then we have Asian Braised Beef. It seems like sauteed beef in dark sauce, just like Indonesian food "Semur Daging". It served along with olive rice and marinated boiled egg.

It is absolutely just like Indonesian food. It is quite nice though especially with the rice. Tender beef slices in black sauce taste kind of salty with mild and warm rice. After finished some of main dish, last thing we have is dessert. And recommended dish they have is Deconstructed Banoffee Pie. This is such beautiful dessert to be in picture. White cream with golden yellow caramel sauce blended on layers inside cute round glass.

But actually, it doesn't have great flavor as it looks. Cream is too much, sweet of caramel is really strong, plus banana and sugar. OMG! you can imagine how sweetness in it. I sure couldn't finished it myself, eat more just like more sugar strong and stronger. I suggest you to pick another dessert i think.

Overall, place such a nice ambiance for hang out with some mates. Food somehow not consistent, but i might be back there sometimes.

Tom's by Tom Aikens, The Langham Jakarta

Bahasa l English A sunny weekend where the pandemic conditions in Indonesia have been getting better lately. Activities in public spaces are getting normal, so we can find some places with crowds. One of them is this restaurant which took a few weeks for me to make a reservation in advance because it was full every weekend. The Langham Jakarta has only been operating this year and has attracted great enthusiasm from Jakarta's community. No exception with the restaurant which was built with a luxurious British concept and developed by a chef from England, Tom Aikens who manages a Michelin Star restaurant in London. Carrying the name Tom's by Tom Aikens with a variety of classic British dishes. The location of this restaurant is on the L floor, the reception area, and arguably the 62nd floor. A restaurant with a large enough area capacity, high ceilings, touches of white, blue, red sofas, and gold-tone lamps give the room an English-style atmosphere. Seen quite crowded visitors
