Torigen, Gading Serpong

Last month with some friends, i planned of to watch the Civil War together at Summarecon Mall Serpong. Before catch the movie, we were take a Japanese dinner around that area. It is called Torigen, during evening it seems quite around the street. Sure it is really different than the front side of street aside with the mall.

From front side, it said they are okonomiyaki specialist. Torigen is actually japanese restaurant with wooden yatai concept, and many japanese theme decoration around the restaurant.

It has second floor, but that time absolutely no other customer among us, it is sure quite. As i heard from friend, it is just opened several months, so they are new though. Guess not many people know it yet.

Since i have been sick about a week and still on recovery, i just have strong passion to have warm or soup dish for dinner. At last i choose the Chanko Nabe. Mixed vegetable, meat and seafood served in nabe soup.

Actually soup has nice color but it is unexpected taste. Soup is too plain even compare the miso soup. Only salty i could taste from it. Overall the vegetables and meats are good, fresh and tasty, except for the chicken & seafood. fish, prawn even the chicken absolutely not fresh. It has another smell, it sure turned down sense to eat. Meat sure good, just somehow too much fat.

Other than soup, my friends ordered the Okonomiyaki and Shake Soboro Don. As they mention, okonomiyaki is good, it has balanced thickness and good texture. And for the soboro don, i guess just fine. Not much description about this dish, salmon seems fine and cooked well done.

Black Owl, PIK, Jakarta

Bahasa l English A favorite destination for the Jakarta community, which is famous for its hawker centers, from street food, restaurants to elegant lounge bars. This week, another good news for restaurant and bar fans, Black Owl is back in operation from the previous location in the PIK 1 area, now they are presented new location with a different concept. As soon as you pass through this area, you can clearly see the Black Owl with a black building with an owl logo on it. Seen the parking area is quite large and still not too crowded during the day. Once inside, we will pass through a hallway with a very high ceiling. My suggestion is it's best to make a reservation in advance to save your table. Black Owl comes with a restaurant and bar concept, a very stunning interior with dominant dark colors such as black and dark wooden material throughout the large room. The dim lights look calm and elegant, and what's amazing is the giant LCD screen that stretches to the ceiling. There

Tom's by Tom Aikens, The Langham Jakarta

Bahasa l English A sunny weekend where the pandemic conditions in Indonesia have been getting better lately. Activities in public spaces are getting normal, so we can find some places with crowds. One of them is this restaurant which took a few weeks for me to make a reservation in advance because it was full every weekend. The Langham Jakarta has only been operating this year and has attracted great enthusiasm from Jakarta's community. No exception with the restaurant which was built with a luxurious British concept and developed by a chef from England, Tom Aikens who manages a Michelin Star restaurant in London. Carrying the name Tom's by Tom Aikens with a variety of classic British dishes. The location of this restaurant is on the L floor, the reception area, and arguably the 62nd floor. A restaurant with a large enough area capacity, high ceilings, touches of white, blue, red sofas, and gold-tone lamps give the room an English-style atmosphere. Seen quite crowded visitors
