Amei Chinese Food, Seven8Nine, West Jakarta

Nowadays, we may hundreds of cafe or any fancy restaurant with modern concept. But even so, i do still admired with homemade food or modest eatery with authentic or typical style of food.

Recently i had been invited to one eatery located at food courts around West Jakarta. Seven 8 Nine is spot where has many eatery outlet with various choices. It is built in modern concept with semi outdoor area. Great thing here, we may found wide parking space at here.

The eatery invited me is called Amei Chinese Food. As by the name, i am sure you would assume this is chinese local eatery. In fast, yes it is! Amei chinese food is offering various of typical home foods represented the Hokkian or Taiwanese style of cooking mixed with Indonesian sense.

The place is managed by couple, the husband and his wife together. They sure have many choices of menu start from various meat, chicken, beef, pork, squid, prawn and any vegetables as well.

I must say my favorite should be fish here, i am not a fan of fish, but i assure you they do served a great fish cuisines here. One is "Ikan Asam Manis" and another is "Ikan Saus Tausi" Both has different of seasoning and color, as one is sweet, another one is bit sour and salty. Fish absolutely cooked well done, perfect texture and seasoned well done.

Another favorite here is the stewed frog leg. It might sounds gross, but in fact, it is one of delicate dish and people used to enjoy it here especially in chinese cuisines. It served along with salty vegetables to give the balanced and frog sure in really tasty sauce and seasoning. Don't forget about the pork too, i am not eat this one, according to my friend, they do served a good pork leg. It is deep in thick black sauce.

But i can't say all dishes are perfect. Just like the Lo Mein, it is too plain i think, even though noodles deep in very thick sauce. What's the good idea here they should serve it along with soy sauce, vinegar or chili cut. Overall, the rest are great.

For service, you won't be received an exclusive dining experience. But the ambiance of classic, home style such a good way at here. About the price, i can say it is worth it, Rp 50,000-60,000 for a huge portion and great food, i am sure satisfied.

Monogram Bistro, Kelapa Gading, North Jakarta

Monogram is one of the most trending cafes currently operating here. It does not take long to attract the attention of foodies in Jakarta and certainly other culinary enthusiasts. From the outside it looks magnificent with a big signboard that clearly shows the writing of Monogram. While there is a second floor which is a karaoke area with a different brand. Monogram presents a modern concept with dominant dark colors that give a touch of elegance.
