73th Independence Day, Merdeka Menu, Bistro Baron, Central Jakarta

Bahasa l English

Indonesia, my homeland and beloved country will be 73 years old on August 17th, 2018. Indonesia is rich in ethnic and cultural diversity, without exception for culinary too. From Sabang to Merauke, a rich spread of flavor can be found on every inch. Welcoming Indonesia's independence day, Bistro Baron together with one of the prestigious shopping mall, Plaza Indonesia, presents the Independent Menu throughout August 2018.
Although Bistro Baron is known as a French restaurant, to welcome this month of Independence, they offer a different experience for the Jakarta society. Various Indonesian classic menus are familiar to us and every food presentation is presented in an elegant and beautiful style.
One such as Nasi Bakul, adapted from the classic menu of Sundanese. Serve rice with stinky bean and salted fish, then wrapped in banana leaves. There are also interesting Sundanese dishes such as grilled shrimp, perkedel (fried corn patties), salted eggs, fried beef tongue with sweet spices, vegetables and various tempting chili sauce. In addition to Indonesian food, Bistro Baron also serves dishes with an Arabic touch, namely Lamb Shawarma, sliced lamb with small cuts served with rice, sauce dressing and chili sauce.
The tender and savory lamb texture is the main attraction of this menu. The touch of Indonesian and Arabic flavors blends well with different sensations. Another menu that is no less interesting is the Oxtail Soup, this is certainly no stranger to the Jakarta society. With the theme "Bhineka Tungga Ika" this menu represents the many different tribes in Indonesia, but oxtail soup is one of the menu that is known by all Indonesian people. A fresh clear gravy with the aroma of sweet herbs, served along with rice and pickled cucumber to give a taste balance.
In addition to food, of course there are special drinks in the form of Indonesian specialty. Jamu Gendong 73 is herbal drink with the taste of modern herbs that have a fresh and tasty flavor. The ingredients used are cinnamon, lemongrass, ginger, lemon and others. Experience Merdeka Menu will take place during August 2018, you will certainly enjoy Indonesian cuisine with an exclusive and pleasant atmosphere.

Tom's by Tom Aikens, The Langham Jakarta

Bahasa l English A sunny weekend where the pandemic conditions in Indonesia have been getting better lately. Activities in public spaces are getting normal, so we can find some places with crowds. One of them is this restaurant which took a few weeks for me to make a reservation in advance because it was full every weekend. The Langham Jakarta has only been operating this year and has attracted great enthusiasm from Jakarta's community. No exception with the restaurant which was built with a luxurious British concept and developed by a chef from England, Tom Aikens who manages a Michelin Star restaurant in London. Carrying the name Tom's by Tom Aikens with a variety of classic British dishes. The location of this restaurant is on the L floor, the reception area, and arguably the 62nd floor. Real Ingredients of Japan, Sushi Maru, PIK, Jakarta

Bahasa l English 2022 is here! Welcoming the new year with joy and enthusiasm. This time I will tell you about a Japanese restaurant in the Golf Island area, PIK which is currently one of the trending destinations in Jakarta. It is undeniable that Japanese cuisine has indeed become one of Jakarta's society's favorites, so many Japanese restaurants can be found here. As a lover of authentic food, I really prefer Japanese restaurants that prioritize quality ingredients and classic tastes, although the current twist food variant is also very interesting. Sushi Maru has been operating since the end of 2021, with a Japanese feel in general using a wooden theme interior throughout the area. There are two floors with a large area capacity. But keep in mind, you should make a reservation before coming here, especially on weekends. One of the top menus here is Japanese Oyster, especially Reiwa Oyster, this dish is only available upon request. With a size that is much larger than the lo...
