Starbucks, Taipei 101, Taiwan

Available in Bahasa: Click Here

One of the most popular destinations in the Taiwan capital, Taipei is a coffee shop that is familiar to us even in Jakarta we could find Starbucks everywhere. But there is something special with this branch in Taipei.

Located in a building that became the icon of Taiwan is Taipei 101. This building is the highest property in Taiwan, indeed in other countries we may found a higher tower, but this spot certainly has its own charm.

This building contains shopping area and corporate offices. With a fairly luxurious design and there is a large atrium with an interesting photo spots. The extent is not big as the shopping malls in Jakarta, but the brand offered is very classy.

We are able visit the highest floor of Taipei 101 is on the level 89th, but of course at a cost of around NTD 600 or approximately Rp 270,000. To save money, we could go upstairs to enjoy the scenery of Taipei City by making a reservation at Starbucks and making a minimum purchase of NTD 200 or about Rp 80,000 per person.

For information, we must make reservations before there, due to the high enthusiasm of visitors, so we can not access there without reservation by phone. For more information, ask the hotel receptionist or tour guide to call if you are not fluent in Mandarin.

After reservation, we would get a booking number from Starbucks. Arrive at Taipei 101 building, immediately head to the office lobby where we would find the queue line to Starbucks. After a few minutes wait, one of the staff from Starbucks with a typical green apron will approach us and guide us up to Starbucks on the 35th floor.

The place is not too big, with a space that contains about 20-30 people. There are large windows that lead to Taipei city sightseeing. Although not too high, but this could be a moment where we enjoy a cup of coffee and the view of the city from a height.

With the minimum purchase, then I have to buy a menu or tumbler with a total price of NTD 200. This time I tried the menu that is not available in Indonesia such as Rose Fancy Tea Latte, tea drinks with a mixture of milk and rose scent is quite unique.

I also tried the food, Pork Cheese Burger, with pink bun then using a slice of pork cooked with tasty spices. For a country like Taiwan, selling pork-containing foods is commonly to be found around.

It tastes good enough, with a crisp bun texture on the side and soft in the middle. Then combined with pork smeared with sauce and tasty condiments also sliced onion that gives its own sensation.

As an experience, visiting Starbucks in Taipei 101 is recommended enough. With a more affordable price we may enjoy the view of the city from a height in one of the icon of Taiwan. In addition, we may also enjoy a variety of foods and beverages that can not be found in Indonesian branch.

Tom's by Tom Aikens, The Langham Jakarta

Bahasa l English A sunny weekend where the pandemic conditions in Indonesia have been getting better lately. Activities in public spaces are getting normal, so we can find some places with crowds. One of them is this restaurant which took a few weeks for me to make a reservation in advance because it was full every weekend. The Langham Jakarta has only been operating this year and has attracted great enthusiasm from Jakarta's community. No exception with the restaurant which was built with a luxurious British concept and developed by a chef from England, Tom Aikens who manages a Michelin Star restaurant in London. Carrying the name Tom's by Tom Aikens with a variety of classic British dishes. The location of this restaurant is on the L floor, the reception area, and arguably the 62nd floor. A restaurant with a large enough area capacity, high ceilings, touches of white, blue, red sofas, and gold-tone lamps give the room an English-style atmosphere. Seen quite crowded visitors

Black Owl, PIK, Jakarta

Bahasa l English A favorite destination for the Jakarta community, which is famous for its hawker centers, from street food, restaurants to elegant lounge bars. This week, another good news for restaurant and bar fans, Black Owl is back in operation from the previous location in the PIK 1 area, now they are presented new location with a different concept. As soon as you pass through this area, you can clearly see the Black Owl with a black building with an owl logo on it. Seen the parking area is quite large and still not too crowded during the day. Once inside, we will pass through a hallway with a very high ceiling. My suggestion is it's best to make a reservation in advance to save your table. Black Owl comes with a restaurant and bar concept, a very stunning interior with dominant dark colors such as black and dark wooden material throughout the large room. The dim lights look calm and elegant, and what's amazing is the giant LCD screen that stretches to the ceiling. There
