Puang Oca, Senayan, South Jakarta

Available in Bahasa: Click Here

When talking about Makassar, South Sulawesi, culinary here is not far from the abundant seafood products. Just information, now we don't need fly to Sulawesi to taste typical Makassar cuisines. Puang Oca is located in Senayan area not far from Senayan City shopping center.

But at night it was a bit difficult to find this place where the lack of street lighting and not visible the sign of the restaurant as it passes. But of course not to worry, using the map would be easy to find it.

Puang Oca itself comes from the name of the owner of the restaurant, where Puang which is a call for the descendants of the Kingdom of Bone in South Sulawesi and Oca is the owner's nickname. The restaurant has a spacious living room area with ample seating space. Indonesian theme is so attached, the atmosphere at night with dim lights make the atmosphere of this restaurant looks calm even in the center of the crowds of Jakarta.

As the name implies, the menu offered is typical of dominant Makassar food using marine products. My chance this time along with some foodies in Jakarta, without wait for a long time, we were served with a variety of seafood dish that looks tempting. Each meal has a truly enchanting aroma and presentation with a sizeable portion.

One of the unique here was the Kudu-Kudu Fish, this fish is the type that exist only in Makassar. For that, Puang Oca must send directly from there to be served in the restaurant. Although it looks creepy, but in fact this fish has a very soft texture of meat once wrapped with crisp flour.

In addition, there was also a mussel which is my favorite, with a large portion and a very tasty seasoning. In addition to seafood, Puang Oca also serves a variety of fried foods such as fried tofu or pastel. Each fried food was served along with a delicious sour sweet sauce. The important thing is, every seafood served is fresh and odorless.

Other info about the price offered is quite standard, in addition to the delicious taste, quality ingredients, servings of large portions and of course with the atmosphere offered. For family dining experience or feel the sensation of seafood, Puang Oca worth to visit.

Tom's by Tom Aikens, The Langham Jakarta

Bahasa l English A sunny weekend where the pandemic conditions in Indonesia have been getting better lately. Activities in public spaces are getting normal, so we can find some places with crowds. One of them is this restaurant which took a few weeks for me to make a reservation in advance because it was full every weekend. The Langham Jakarta has only been operating this year and has attracted great enthusiasm from Jakarta's community. No exception with the restaurant which was built with a luxurious British concept and developed by a chef from England, Tom Aikens who manages a Michelin Star restaurant in London. Carrying the name Tom's by Tom Aikens with a variety of classic British dishes. The location of this restaurant is on the L floor, the reception area, and arguably the 62nd floor. A restaurant with a large enough area capacity, high ceilings, touches of white, blue, red sofas, and gold-tone lamps give the room an English-style atmosphere. Seen quite crowded visitors
