Spice, Ubud,Bali

Available in Bahasa: Click Here

Tour in Bali, one of the must-see locations is Ubud. Spot where we could find a variety of shops and restaurants spread here. Although the hot sun during the day, it was looks quite crowded tourists who were walking here, both local and foreign tourists.

Initially I planned to visit a restaurant that is quite popular in social media lately. But because it was the day of Kuningan in Bali, where the majority of residents here perform special ceremonies in welcoming the day of Kuningan. So that, some shops, restaurants or cafes closed in the morning and will only operate later in the afternoon.

Therefore I searched for another spot where I could enjoy lunch that day. Through information from the internet certainly not difficult for us to find information on recommended restaurants in Indonesia. After a few minutes, I found "Spice".

Spice is a restaurant with a hangout cafe concept built with a beautiful interior. With a stunning table bar and wooden patterning dominates the entire room and the lights in the jugs and bottles hanging on top gave a beautiful touch.

The place is minimalist, there is the inside part with some seats, but was in the process of renovation, so it can not be occupied. Visitors were only allowed to sit in the area close to the glass window. During the day, the hot sunlight blazed into the restaurant so it feels warm enough, I think it does not matter as long as it's not hot.

Little information here,  Spice known was founded by Chris Salans who is a chef who came from America and started career in France and now he has traveled to various places with a myriad of experience in the field of culinary. Besides Spice, he also founded Mozaic Restaurant which is a fine dining restaurant in Bali.

The menu offered in Spice is a blend of Indonesian ingredients with modern Western techniques. My lunchtime begins with a beautiful, fresh and slightly sour meal. Bangkuang Dumplings presented with fragrant soya sauce. With a stunning presentation, it was certainly looks very tempting.

In addition I also tried Laksa, this is one of the local culinary that we often found in Indonesia. In Spice, the laksa is served along with eggs, shrimp and yellow noodles. Tasty is the first impression of this menu, with a slightly thick sauce and spices that is strong enough to provide a really perfect flavor.

The lunch experience here had been a satisfying one on my trip in Bali this time. Spice certainly offers a comfortable atmosphere, varied food menu and distinctive taste. Also do not forget the friendly service of course be part of this restaurant. With such standards there would be an appropriate price, but I can make sure the dining experience here is very recommendation once.

Tom's by Tom Aikens, The Langham Jakarta

Bahasa l English A sunny weekend where the pandemic conditions in Indonesia have been getting better lately. Activities in public spaces are getting normal, so we can find some places with crowds. One of them is this restaurant which took a few weeks for me to make a reservation in advance because it was full every weekend. The Langham Jakarta has only been operating this year and has attracted great enthusiasm from Jakarta's community. No exception with the restaurant which was built with a luxurious British concept and developed by a chef from England, Tom Aikens who manages a Michelin Star restaurant in London. Carrying the name Tom's by Tom Aikens with a variety of classic British dishes. The location of this restaurant is on the L floor, the reception area, and arguably the 62nd floor. A restaurant with a large enough area capacity, high ceilings, touches of white, blue, red sofas, and gold-tone lamps give the room an English-style atmosphere. Seen quite crowded visitors ...

Real Ingredients of Japan, Sushi Maru, PIK, Jakarta

Bahasa l English 2022 is here! Welcoming the new year with joy and enthusiasm. This time I will tell you about a Japanese restaurant in the Golf Island area, PIK which is currently one of the trending destinations in Jakarta. It is undeniable that Japanese cuisine has indeed become one of Jakarta's society's favorites, so many Japanese restaurants can be found here. As a lover of authentic food, I really prefer Japanese restaurants that prioritize quality ingredients and classic tastes, although the current twist food variant is also very interesting. Sushi Maru has been operating since the end of 2021, with a Japanese feel in general using a wooden theme interior throughout the area. There are two floors with a large area capacity. But keep in mind, you should make a reservation before coming here, especially on weekends. One of the top menus here is Japanese Oyster, especially Reiwa Oyster, this dish is only available upon request. With a size that is much larger than the lo...
