Gastromaquia, Senopati, South Jakarta

Available in Bahasa: Click Here

Ramadan has arrived, in this month the Muslims run the fast before welcoming the big day of Lebaran. Usually this month a lot of promotions or attractive offers from restaurants and cafes in Jakarta. One of them is Gastromaquia, a typical Spanish restaurant located in the area of South Jakarta.

With a modern exterior style, white color dominance and built with two floors. The interior of the restaurant is filled with white as well, then the windows that give light from the sun outside. In addition, there are decorations along the walls, glass frames with beautiful ornaments.

Then, there is a lamp decoration that looks interesting to be photographed. But my visit during night time made the atmosphere of the restaurant became dimmed and requires more effort to take photos of food. The story of this restaurant originated from the owner who likes the typical food of Madrid and he thought to present it in Indonesia with inspiration from Gastromaquia in Madrid.

In this month of Ramadan, Gastromaquia offers a set menu with a selection of Spanish dishes that are so interesting. This menu concept was created by Chef Jose with inspiring dishes from various of cities in Spain such as, Galicia, Madrid, Andalucia, Cataluna and Basque.

Each menu was presented in order from starters to desserts. Each dish was served with an awesome presentation. Starts from a black rock plate, a detailed presentation and even featured some amazing performances such as Croqueta de chorizo, served on a stone plate and covered with a glass of smoke-filled glass.

At the time of opening, smoke was steaming and created a very attractive appearance. Not only the presentation, but the taste offered was also frightening. Every taste generated gives a unique sense of every city in Spain. Takes us feeling the atmosphere of eating in this Hispania country.

Then there's Gamba Flambeed Al Ajillo, Shrimp baked with an aroma of rum on a stone plate, then served together with potatoes and garlic chips. Stunning appearance , fresh shrimp and alloy spices that well done.

Total of this set menu, we would enjoy the 8 types of food from the opening, the main courses to the dessert. I can assure you every food served will give a different sensation. Everything uses a variety of different ingredients also various herbs.

Tom's by Tom Aikens, The Langham Jakarta

Bahasa l English A sunny weekend where the pandemic conditions in Indonesia have been getting better lately. Activities in public spaces are getting normal, so we can find some places with crowds. One of them is this restaurant which took a few weeks for me to make a reservation in advance because it was full every weekend. The Langham Jakarta has only been operating this year and has attracted great enthusiasm from Jakarta's community. No exception with the restaurant which was built with a luxurious British concept and developed by a chef from England, Tom Aikens who manages a Michelin Star restaurant in London. Carrying the name Tom's by Tom Aikens with a variety of classic British dishes. The location of this restaurant is on the L floor, the reception area, and arguably the 62nd floor. A restaurant with a large enough area capacity, high ceilings, touches of white, blue, red sofas, and gold-tone lamps give the room an English-style atmosphere. Seen quite crowded visitors
