Hearing the word Laos, certainly quite rare for people of Indonesia to visit this country in Southeast Asia. At the end of 2017 I had the opportunity to visit one of the foreign tourist destinations that entered into the list of UNESCO with a cultural heritage province that should be maintained and preserved. Luang Prabang is located in the northern part of Laos where it is close to the state of China.

Upon arrival there, I was greeted with cold weather with intense rain. Previously I was on a flight from Bangkok, Thailand where it only takes about 1 hour and 15 minutes to arrive in Luang Prabang. The airport is small as the airport in a small town in general. good thing arrived there, I got an airport transfer from the hotel that I've previously ordered is the Burasari Heritage. Uniquely we were picked up using classic Marcedes Benz 1970s car with a stylish model.

As a small town, you could say the hotel here quite a lot as well as with affordable lodging. However for convenience I chose Burasari Heritage which offers a facility of a luxury hotel but a classic concept. Basically all the hotels in Luang Prabang from small inn to luxury hotels only have a small capacity of 5 to a dozen rooms. In addition, according to the regulations, it is not allowed to build more than 2 storey building especially in the central area.

Burasari Heritage is one of the most famous classic hotels in Luang Prabang. With a location overlooking one of the major rivers, Nan Khan River, the atmosphere is green and beautiful. Upon arrival at the hotel, I was greeted kindly by the hotel receptionist by saying sa-baai-dii which means hello. Due to the cold weather, a woman gives a warm, comfortable cloth and a special drink with a fragrant aroma and a fresh, slightly sweet taste.

Then she also explained instructions on Luang Prabang culture, tourist routes worth visiting, hotel facilities as well as information and tips on tours in Luang Prabang. It does not take long, my room is ready. Before going to the room, I passed the room filled with very interesting antique interiors. The classic style that makes the atmosphere of Burasari Heritage just like home.

Upon entering the room, I was very impressed with the overall room with a gorgeous classic interior. The one that amazed me was the shower room with metal poles shaping like a birdcage, then a mini bar with an antique luggage cabinet, then all the free drinks and snacks are included with the room. And other info, the entire hotel Burasari Heritage wood-lined elements as infrastructure, so without the use of air conditioning, it feels cool especially in the rainy weather.

In addition to comfortable rooms, all the amenities are available from shampoo, shower gel, toothbrush, cotton pad, cotton bud, bathrobe and complete with sling bag that can be used for cycling. Due to the rainy weather until the evening, I decided to stay at the hotel until it was time for dinner. Apparently when we book a room, here is included with breakfast and dinner every day. For choice, this dinner can be changed to lunch as well.

At dinner, each guest can choose the set menu that has been provided but not including drinks. The menu offered is typical Thai food, so it will be quite familiar with the food served such as tom yam kai, tom kha pla and others. Overall the food served was quite satisfying, the dominant Thai taste was my favorite. Not forgetting also available a delicious wine drinks but not included in the package. We chose Chateau l'oume de pey in 2010 type Cabernet Sauvignon and merlot blended with a fruity flavor.

At night without the use of air conditioning, I was sleeping peacefully accompanied by cold rain. Upon waking up, the air around Luang Prabang remained cool. Important info that in Luang Prabang hotel is prohibited to build swimming pool in accordance with UNESCO area regulations. So as soon as I woke up, after taking a shower, I immediately had breakfast with a prepared menu. The simple breakfast concept is not like a real luxury hotel, but comfortable with a homey atmosphere.

Available fruits, bread, ham, juice and yogurt. Then each guest is entitled to choose the desired eggs and special dishes that change every day. For a hotel classified as 4 stars, the menu offered is very little. But frankly I was quite satisfied with the taste of the food served.

Burasari Heritage also provides bicycles that are free for guests to use. In Luang Prabang it will be very practical where tourists can explore around the city by bicycle without having to rent a car or tuk-tuk. In addition to saving time, we certainly will not sweat because the air in Luang Prabang is cool.

For the first time staying here, I do quite satisfied with all the hospitality offered. The decent and comfortable facilities made me feel happy at Burasari Heritage. It's just that there are some staff who are not fluent in English where we need a little effort when talking, but just calm down because there will be a resepsionist which of course stand by every day. To stay here can spend from Rp 2,000,000 to Rp 5,000,000 per night depending on season.
