Bread Street Kitchen (BSK), Central, Hong Kong

Available in Bahasa: Click Here

Before leaving for Hong Kong, I have been prepared a list of restaurants or culinary places that I would visit for the holidays. Once know there is one restaurant that is carried by my favorite chef, Gordon Ramsay with the name of the restaurant that also exist in Singapore, i was thinking i must go to this one.

Bread Street Kitchen is a British style restaurant that carries the concept of casual dining. Same with Singapore's branch, with a dominant interior of brown, partially tiled with black and white chess patterns, chairs, couches & tables of the same color between brown and black. In Singapore is built with 2 floors, but here only available with 1 floor wide space.

During dinner time, can be seen quite crowded by visitors who are enjoying the dish. With the concept of relax dining, they also offer a dinner experience accompanied by a glass of wine. The classic atmosphere with style really up in here.

Once inside, I was greeted kindly by a staff who spoke fluent English and kindly invited me into the restaurant. Then, we were offered the menu and wine book here. Overall the menu offered is the same as the Singapore branch, it's just that in a certain time each branch offers several different menus.

One of the amazing menus I tried at that time was Poached Dover Sole, Lobster, Clams, Shampire & Shellfish Jus. Seafood dishes with beautiful presentation, Dover Sole fish is a type of fish that usually lives in the waters of the North Atlantic and Mediterranean sea. With soft white meat and combined with a spice soup so that we could taste freshness of the fish. Then, served with fresh and delicious pieces of lobster, some clams and Shellfish jus which is a broth made from seafood-based ingredients with a savory taste.

The next menu that I tried is amazing as well, Steamed Steak & Onion Pudding, this menu is quite unique. With mashed potatoes resembling pudding, stuffed with minced beef cooked with a dark brown onion sauce. With a mild and milky mashed potato, a softly chopped beef, a savory taste so appealing. And do not forget to enjoy with Onion sauce that gives the sensation is very tasty. This menu is recommended for sharing, it served with a portion large enough for one person.

After enjoying the main dish, I also tried one of the favorite dessert that is also often I make at home is, Tiramisu. A classic dessert with a presentation in a clear glass composed of several beautiful layers. The flavor of the legit cream combined with the crumbles moistened with coffee and rum flavor provide the right balance.

My whole experience of enjoying both dinner and lunch at Bread Street Kitchen is always satisfying. With mature concepts & details, amazing British specialties, a cozy atmosphere is also complete with friendly service. But for all of that, there will be an appropriate price.

Tom's by Tom Aikens, The Langham Jakarta

Bahasa l English A sunny weekend where the pandemic conditions in Indonesia have been getting better lately. Activities in public spaces are getting normal, so we can find some places with crowds. One of them is this restaurant which took a few weeks for me to make a reservation in advance because it was full every weekend. The Langham Jakarta has only been operating this year and has attracted great enthusiasm from Jakarta's community. No exception with the restaurant which was built with a luxurious British concept and developed by a chef from England, Tom Aikens who manages a Michelin Star restaurant in London. Carrying the name Tom's by Tom Aikens with a variety of classic British dishes. The location of this restaurant is on the L floor, the reception area, and arguably the 62nd floor. A restaurant with a large enough area capacity, high ceilings, touches of white, blue, red sofas, and gold-tone lamps give the room an English-style atmosphere. Seen quite crowded visitors ...
