Bittersweet, Bogor, West Java

Available in Bahasa: Click Here

Rain has been flushed down all day has made the cold air around. Bogor is named as Rain City where it used have a rain season all year. I noticed it always raining during my visit every time here. Nowadays, Bogor has been available with many choices of modern cafe or restaurant where urban people used to go during spare time.

Bittersweet is one recommended spot to go, located at Central Bogor where this area is quite crowded normally. Good thing for me is today has a heavy rain when it seems not so many people get out home during this weather.

When arrived at the restaurant, i immediately impressed with the beautiful interior, clean and unique. Wall side with white color, then as usually wooden tables and chairs with dark color that has been favorite stuff for restaurant this time. Then it has green huge tree on the middle give a nice & fresh ambiance also there's a two tall stairs in opposite direction to 2nd floor.

I assure you this is an interesting place for taking picture. At the middle of those two stairs, there's a stunning tree wallpaper on wall that looks interesting. Bittersweet is offering the modern concept restaurant with various of fusion menu that has been trending this time.

They do offer an interesting and quite many selection menu to have. I have try some of dishes for today lunch by braised oxtail, duck confit, chicken popcorn and for dessert, pannacotta.

Among all those foods, my favorite should be the pannacotta which is has good smooth and firm texture blending along together and the earl grey flavor sure give a nice and lovely scent in it.

For the others, i do enjoyed it though. Only there's a little inconsistency quality like the chicken popcorn is too dry, braised oxtail has nice texture of meat and served along with lovely mashed potato but i think it is ruined by the black pepper sauce which is too strong and over seasoning until covered up the taste of meat.

Duck confit is pretty good, but since i am not a fan of duck fat which is this one has a thick slime of fat. It has really thick scent and too strong for me. But some people sure love this, duck meat with sticky and thick duck fat give a stronger taste of a meat.

They do quite reasonable price if think about the restaurant concept. Comfortable ambiance, beautiful interior, pretty good foods and fast service response should be some of keys for business of restaurant. If you visit Bogor, Bittersweet sure a recommended spot for you to go. I think this is really good place to have lunch especially spending time with family or some friends having time together

Tom's by Tom Aikens, The Langham Jakarta

Bahasa l English A sunny weekend where the pandemic conditions in Indonesia have been getting better lately. Activities in public spaces are getting normal, so we can find some places with crowds. One of them is this restaurant which took a few weeks for me to make a reservation in advance because it was full every weekend. The Langham Jakarta has only been operating this year and has attracted great enthusiasm from Jakarta's community. No exception with the restaurant which was built with a luxurious British concept and developed by a chef from England, Tom Aikens who manages a Michelin Star restaurant in London. Carrying the name Tom's by Tom Aikens with a variety of classic British dishes. The location of this restaurant is on the L floor, the reception area, and arguably the 62nd floor. A restaurant with a large enough area capacity, high ceilings, touches of white, blue, red sofas, and gold-tone lamps give the room an English-style atmosphere. Seen quite crowded visitors

Monogram Bistro, Kelapa Gading, North Jakarta

Bahasa l English Almost every month we find new restaurants all over Jakarta. This time i visited Kelapa Gading area which i rarely explore. Monogram is one of the most trending cafes currently operating here. It does not take long to attract the attention of foodies in Jakarta and certainly other culinary enthusiasts. From the outside it looks magnificent with a big signboard that clearly shows the writing of Monogram. While there is a second floor which is a karaoke area with a different brand. Monogram presents a modern concept with dominant dark colors that give a touch of elegance. A large area complete with a beautiful bar and there is a private space decorated with colorful paintings look instagramable. The menu concept offered is a modern theme that is currently trending in Jakarta society. Some interesting menu such as huevos racheros served on pan, Mexican food, minced beef processed with tomato sauce, eggs then complete with classic salsa and fresh avocad
