Hokkaido Izakaya, Pavilion Retail Arcade, Central Jakarta

Available in Bahasa: Click Here

Japanese food has become one of the most culinary found in almost every country. Not to forget, Jakarta also has an abundance of Japanese restaurants. With variants of different concepts, from classical to modern and even unique.
Back again I along with Pergikuliner which is one of the popular culinary app in Jakarta and even other capital cities. An app with features that make it easy for us to find interesting restaurant references and culinary articles.
We visited Hokkaido Izakaya for lunch with our foodie friends in Jakarta. Incidentally this restaurant is quite new to operate so still seen some flowers in front of the restaurant. Similar to Japanese restaurant concept generally, Dominant with brightly colored wooden theme in the whole restaurant room.

Due to our previous reservation, there is a private area which provides a quieter and more comfortable atmosphere. The room is quite spacious which contains about 10 people inside.
The menu offered is of course a variety of authentic Japanese food. One of the recommended menu is Kuro Goma Soba. Big black bowl with soba noodles served with minced pork, egg yolks and seaweed. Also provided sesame sauce to be mixed so as to provide a savory taste.
In addition to soba, we may also enjoy various donburi with a variety of toppings. Available from chicken, pork and seafood such as tuna and salmon. I'm not sure the rice used is Japanese rice, the flavor of the donburi is so basic in my opinion. No special flavors were provided from each dishes.
But There was one rather different menu that I've also never tasted before, namely, Tempura Curry Soba. Soba noodles served with a thick curry sauce and dark yellow color with a piece of tempura on it. Dense taste is strong enough to give the sensation of a curry is very legit.
If asked to choose food here, then I would recommend soba. Both cold or plain soba clearly provide a delicious authentic taste. Besides the atmosphere offered by Hokkaido Izakaya also quite comfortable, we will be brought to the atmosphere just like a restaurant in Japan.
The price offered is quite standard, besides every food is served with a sizeable serving. Moreover, the soba noodles package is shunted along with the huge Kaki-age (sort of Japanese fried).

Tom's by Tom Aikens, The Langham Jakarta

Bahasa l English A sunny weekend where the pandemic conditions in Indonesia have been getting better lately. Activities in public spaces are getting normal, so we can find some places with crowds. One of them is this restaurant which took a few weeks for me to make a reservation in advance because it was full every weekend. The Langham Jakarta has only been operating this year and has attracted great enthusiasm from Jakarta's community. No exception with the restaurant which was built with a luxurious British concept and developed by a chef from England, Tom Aikens who manages a Michelin Star restaurant in London. Carrying the name Tom's by Tom Aikens with a variety of classic British dishes. The location of this restaurant is on the L floor, the reception area, and arguably the 62nd floor. A restaurant with a large enough area capacity, high ceilings, touches of white, blue, red sofas, and gold-tone lamps give the room an English-style atmosphere. Seen quite crowded visitors

Monogram Bistro, Kelapa Gading, North Jakarta

Bahasa l English Almost every month we find new restaurants all over Jakarta. This time i visited Kelapa Gading area which i rarely explore. Monogram is one of the most trending cafes currently operating here. It does not take long to attract the attention of foodies in Jakarta and certainly other culinary enthusiasts. From the outside it looks magnificent with a big signboard that clearly shows the writing of Monogram. While there is a second floor which is a karaoke area with a different brand. Monogram presents a modern concept with dominant dark colors that give a touch of elegance. A large area complete with a beautiful bar and there is a private space decorated with colorful paintings look instagramable.
