Tio Ciu 78, Mangga Besar, Central Jakarta

Available in Bahasa: Click Here

In Jakarta, so many restaurant has been available with various different concept. Also following the eatery with local and modest concept that are countless in this town. One of famous spot here is Mangga Besar where we know this area is surrounding by many eateries. During night time, this place is sure crowded.

Before went there, i did planned to go one eatery for my dinner. As the name, Tio Ciu 78, sure you guys would noticed this is a Chinese restaurant. First thing i need to mention is, this place sure is not suggested for Muslim since there's few kind of foods are consisted pork.☺

During dinner time, as i said, this area is crowded than a daylight including this eatery too. I am not quite sure what does it mean about the 7 & 8 number. As what i know, number 7 & 8 could be means a good luck and prosperity by the Feng Shui. Indeed, in old time, people used to believe in such number for their business name or brand.

This eatery is categorized as modest concept with not a huge space in restaurant. I guess it could fit only about 20 persons. During this time, it seems all staff super busy with their work since unstoppable customers are coming. Good thing for me, i did not wait too long to get my turn. And actually i have been ordered my food before get on my seat.

Since there's a full of customers, so it took quite time for them to serving my foods, but i think it is acceptable. Each foods are served in huge plate of serving. I think these is suitable for sharing with some people including the rice as well.

I think for the seasoning, they sure served a tasty foods. Each dish give a special savory and taste homemade from somewhere local island. Indeed, by the name Tio Ciu is a language that has been used around Kalimantan & Sumatra. Certain cities are famous by their homemade Chinese food that has a unique taste.

But a problem here is about the food texture like the ngo hiong having a too soft or soggy texture or the crispy chicken is too dry and too thick flour base. My favorite here should be the veggies Fumak (Local Vegetable) sauteed with garlic. It has special bitter taste and mixed well done with taste of oyster sauce.

For price, they do offering reasonable rate and suitable for pocket. With huge plate of serving, i think this is one of best place for family dining. Indeed they do not serve you like a stars restaurant, but they do try their best to serve food quick as possible so we won't be wait too long.

Tom's by Tom Aikens, The Langham Jakarta

Bahasa l English A sunny weekend where the pandemic conditions in Indonesia have been getting better lately. Activities in public spaces are getting normal, so we can find some places with crowds. One of them is this restaurant which took a few weeks for me to make a reservation in advance because it was full every weekend. The Langham Jakarta has only been operating this year and has attracted great enthusiasm from Jakarta's community. No exception with the restaurant which was built with a luxurious British concept and developed by a chef from England, Tom Aikens who manages a Michelin Star restaurant in London. Carrying the name Tom's by Tom Aikens with a variety of classic British dishes. The location of this restaurant is on the L floor, the reception area, and arguably the 62nd floor. A restaurant with a large enough area capacity, high ceilings, touches of white, blue, red sofas, and gold-tone lamps give the room an English-style atmosphere. Seen quite crowded visitors

Monogram Bistro, Kelapa Gading, North Jakarta

Bahasa l English Almost every month we find new restaurants all over Jakarta. This time i visited Kelapa Gading area which i rarely explore. Monogram is one of the most trending cafes currently operating here. It does not take long to attract the attention of foodies in Jakarta and certainly other culinary enthusiasts. From the outside it looks magnificent with a big signboard that clearly shows the writing of Monogram. While there is a second floor which is a karaoke area with a different brand. Monogram presents a modern concept with dominant dark colors that give a touch of elegance. A large area complete with a beautiful bar and there is a private space decorated with colorful paintings look instagramable. The menu concept offered is a modern theme that is currently trending in Jakarta society. Some interesting menu such as huevos racheros served on pan, Mexican food, minced beef processed with tomato sauce, eggs then complete with classic salsa and fresh avocad
