Roemah Rempah, Plaza Senayan, South Jakarta

Here is another recommendation for Indonesian food lover. Roemah Rempah is spotted at Plaza Senayan 4th floor. This restaurant sure has obviouly meaning by Roemah = House, Rempah = Herbs/spices. So it could called by spices house. As the name, this restaurant is serve various of Indonesian foods which is famous by many kind of spices and seasoning.

From interior, this place is fulled decorated by classic Indonesia theme but also touch of chinese culture. I saw some of floral shelling around, beautiful chinese lanterns, then chinese plate hanging on walls, also antique door with flower sculptures.

From it concept, they sure have an exclusive and luxury dining people could enjoy. With dark elegant color around and bunch of antique interior does put up an exclusive ambiance.

Move on the food, they are offering various of Indonesian food from any part of cities here. I saw most of the menu are basically from Java, but there also put up some from Sumatra, Bali and others. First menu i ordered was a "Ayam Singgang Sumpu dengan Daun Singkong" it is a grilled chicken with spiced coconut milk.

It has great taste though. Chicken cooked well done, nice texture, it covered up by sticky sauce with great sense and seasoning. What nice too, it served along with stew cassava leaves. Another dish i had here is classic "Nasi Campur Bali" It is refer to typical indonesian food, white rice accompanied with various of other dishes and vegetables.

It is served beautifully with rice wrapped in banana leaf gave a nice sense, it is consisted by fried potato, slices of seasoned chicken, boiled egg with sauce, morning glory, sate lilit (minced meat satay) and sambal matah (Bali typical of chili).

Overall, it has nice seasoning, perfect and good consistency of foods. Only problem here is, it took about over 30 minutes to served two kind of menu. And i remember it was not so crowded during my visit. But i would be back in here another time, and i think they could do better about it.

for price, i guess they are try to put it up on higher level of dining which is offering an exclusive and elegant dining. I must say you need an extra cash somehow compare another casual dining. But as they have good quality of taste, i think it is worth it when you seek for authentic Indonesian dining.

New Opening, August, Jakarta

Bahasa l English This month has indeed become a moment where the restaurant and hotel business has begun to attract customers with various offers. Not to forget, the opening of several new restaurants has also colored the city of Jakarta recently. One of them is August, which is located in the Sudirman area, more precisely at Sequis Tower. This restaurant has opened on November 25th, 2021. The elegant and premium concept can be seen from the exterior and interior of the restaurant. The area is quite spacious with a charming bar in the front room, then an open kitchen which provides an interesting experience for guests to see the activities of the chefs in the lively kitchen. On weekends, you can see the number of guests filling the entire table, it's a good idea to make a reservation in advance . When I had dinner there, they happened to have no available alcohol because they were taking care of licensing and distribution issues. So I brought wine with a corkage fee of IDR 250,000

Tom's by Tom Aikens, The Langham Jakarta

Bahasa l English A sunny weekend where the pandemic conditions in Indonesia have been getting better lately. Activities in public spaces are getting normal, so we can find some places with crowds. One of them is this restaurant which took a few weeks for me to make a reservation in advance because it was full every weekend. The Langham Jakarta has only been operating this year and has attracted great enthusiasm from Jakarta's community. No exception with the restaurant which was built with a luxurious British concept and developed by a chef from England, Tom Aikens who manages a Michelin Star restaurant in London. Carrying the name Tom's by Tom Aikens with a variety of classic British dishes. The location of this restaurant is on the L floor, the reception area, and arguably the 62nd floor. A restaurant with a large enough area capacity, high ceilings, touches of white, blue, red sofas, and gold-tone lamps give the room an English-style atmosphere. Seen quite crowded visitors
