Chinatown, Singapore

Weeks ago i went to Singapore again. Of course many food list on journal at this moment as well. Recently, many restaurant & eateries in singapore have been rewarded by the famous Michelin Star which is standard of restaurant quality in worldwide. I must say this is really exciting, even some hawker centre area in Singapore like chinatown.

Before that, Chinatown is one of my favorite spot to have many of food hunting. Various of dishes, cultures and tradition are here. For this time, i spent my day here by enjoy some kind of eateries rated by Michelin Star. First here i'd like to mention is Hongkong Soya Sauce Chicken Rice. For your note, you would be shocked with the queue line. I took about 1 hour to get my turn.

People seems don't care they have to wait for quite time. I must say this is kind of moment you don't see many times. long lines of people stand front of tiny eatery. After a hour, finally i got my turn and such a joyful moment when i got the chicken rice.

Not an exclusive cuisine, it is classic chicken rice with soya sauce also pickles. It may looks simple as the name, but i assure you this is superb. Tender and juicy chicken really tasty. Complete with the soya sauce gave more taste in it. Another dish i had was a CMY Satay. A bunch of skewers consisted by chicken, beef and lamb meat.

It served along with tasty peanut sauce. Skewer are good, each meat has different texture and taste. Much better dip it in the sauce gave a great sense. LAst dish i'd like to mention is the Zhong Guo La Mian Xiao Long Bao. Sure they are famous by the Xiao Long Bao, a steamed dumpling served in bamboo steaming basket (just exactly where's the name came from)

Dumpling looks just fine, even not beautiful enough i guess. But do not worry, these is super delicious. Great skin covered up really juicy and sweet meat inside. I do really love it, meat cooked done and it is perfect seasoning. Actually there's a lot of great food rated by Michelin star, but apparently i did not have quite time to make it all.

When you need to took quite time queueing each outlet, and most of shops are closing on 6.00pm. I am sure would go back there to try other foods as well. Even though no michelin star, Chinatown is one of spot that i would recommended to all of you to visit.

Not to forget, the opening of several new restaurants has also colored the city of Jakarta recently. One of them is August, which is located in the Sudirman area, more precisely at Sequis Tower. This restaurant has opened on November 25th, 2021. The elegant and premium concept can be seen from the exterior and interior of the restaurant. The area is quite spacious with a charming bar in the front room, then an open kitchen which provides an interesting experience for guests to see the activities of the chefs in the lively kitchen. On weekends, you can see the number of guests filling the entire table, it's a good idea to make a reservation in advance . When I had dinner there, they happened to have no available alcohol because they were taking care of licensing and distribution issues. So I brought wine with a corkage fee of IDR 250,000

Tom's by Tom Aikens, The Langham Jakarta

Bahasa l English A sunny weekend where the pandemic conditions in Indonesia have been getting better lately. Activities in public spaces are getting normal, so we can find some places with crowds. One of them is this restaurant which took a few weeks for me to make a reservation in advance because it was full every weekend. The Langham Jakarta has only been operating this year and has attracted great enthusiasm from Jakarta's community. No exception with the restaurant which was built with a luxurious British concept and developed by a chef from England, Tom Aikens who manages a Michelin Star restaurant in London. Carrying the name Tom's by Tom Aikens with a variety of classic British dishes. The location of this restaurant is on the L floor, the reception area, and arguably the 62nd floor. A restaurant with a large enough area capacity, high ceilings, touches of white, blue, red sofas, and gold-tone lamps give the room an English-style atmosphere. Seen quite crowded visitors
