Mangia, Grand Indonesia, Central Jakarta

After long vacation, now i am back on my routine. Normally it wouldn't be an excitement when after long holiday you have been relaxed, chillin and cosey but suddenly you need get back to work. But i don't know why, i do feel excited about this. Something i did not feel before, i realized this would be my last month working here.

I am excited when out from here and start my own home business. Bit nervous but happiness are blended together. Now i am going to tell about the Indonesian restaurant at my fav mall is Grand Indonesia. It is called Mangia, from outside it doesnt looks like typical Indonesia theme, it has vintage touch and decoration with wallpapers.

Actually this is my second time here and i am going to have break fasting together with some mates. During that time, it was really crowded like all tables seems fulled occupied. I was expected to sit inside part where more lights but since it was full, then we had the outside table.

During Ramadan, they are serving free ta jil which is bubur kacang hijau, a sweet dessert with mung bean porridge, coconut milk and palm sugar to start the iftar. Then we order various kind of cuisines start by the Nasi Goreng Bang Jul.

It is a fried rice with bunch of lamb meat completed with the green chili cut. Rice sure has strong taste, it is kind like india rice with spices. Lamb also tasty and tender perfect with very hot chili cut.
Next dish is Nasi Campur Manado. Classic Manadonese style rice with Chicken Rica, sauteed papaya leaves and shredded fish.

It is quite huge portion for a person, chicken absolutely spicy with tasty seasoning. Papaya leaves also have good seasoning and crunchy. Then the fish has spicy seasoning as well but not much as the chicken, overall on this plate sure are tasty.
Then we have a Spicy Seafood Pasta.

This one absolutely not recommended if you re not able to handle spicy. Actually this is one also tasty as other dish but i guess it is too spicy for me. For some people might be take this fine, but overall i only taste the hot sense with salty.

Last dish here is Nasi Sambal Jeruk Dori. Herbs rice topped with dori fish and poured with cur of ginger flowers. Rice has nice smell and good seasoning but it is too much with the ginger flower which is good the great seanse but too much somehow it is like eating bunch of raw and rough leaves. It almost covered up the fish.

For price, i think they are fair enough. About Rp 40-60 thousands, i guess it is normal for eatery inside the shopping mall.

Black Owl, PIK, Jakarta

Bahasa l English A favorite destination for the Jakarta community, which is famous for its hawker centers, from street food, restaurants to elegant lounge bars. This week, another good news for restaurant and bar fans, Black Owl is back in operation from the previous location in the PIK 1 area, now they are presented new location with a different concept. As soon as you pass through this area, you can clearly see the Black Owl with a black building with an owl logo on it. Seen the parking area is quite large and still not too crowded during the day. Once inside, we will pass through a hallway with a very high ceiling. My suggestion is it's best to make a reservation in advance to save your table. Black Owl comes with a restaurant and bar concept, a very stunning interior with dominant dark colors such as black and dark wooden material throughout the large room. The dim lights look calm and elegant, and what's amazing is the giant LCD screen that stretches to the ceiling. There

Tom's by Tom Aikens, The Langham Jakarta

Bahasa l English A sunny weekend where the pandemic conditions in Indonesia have been getting better lately. Activities in public spaces are getting normal, so we can find some places with crowds. One of them is this restaurant which took a few weeks for me to make a reservation in advance because it was full every weekend. The Langham Jakarta has only been operating this year and has attracted great enthusiasm from Jakarta's community. No exception with the restaurant which was built with a luxurious British concept and developed by a chef from England, Tom Aikens who manages a Michelin Star restaurant in London. Carrying the name Tom's by Tom Aikens with a variety of classic British dishes. The location of this restaurant is on the L floor, the reception area, and arguably the 62nd floor. A restaurant with a large enough area capacity, high ceilings, touches of white, blue, red sofas, and gold-tone lamps give the room an English-style atmosphere. Seen quite crowded visitors
