Where To Eat Makassar, South Sulawesi

Available in Bahasa: Click Here

Holiday to Makassar city for a few days will be fun spend for a culinary tour. The largest city in Eastern Indonesia is a fairly developed city with good infrastructure. My trip this time is quite short especially if you want to travel to Tanjung Bira or Tana Toarja which takes a long time to arrive there. So this time I just circled the area of Makassar city that there are many of interesting culinary spots following down here:
1. RM Florida
This Chinese restaurant is famous for local people in Makassar. With classic Chinese food specialties such as fried rice, capcay rice or a variety of noodle dishes. Surely Nasi Goreng Merah is a must-try food when visiting this city. Basically the cooking technique is the same as normally fried rice, but the unique thing is using tomato sauce to produce a thick red color. A savory taste with a distinctive aroma makes this delicious red fried rice. Another thing is the portion served is large enough for one person.
Then we can also enjoy Mie Kwantong which is also typical food of this restaurant. Curly noodles cooked with a thick sauce then served along with a lot of seafood and green vegetables. Savory flavor and sauce that make this noodle dish is very delicious. To add flavor, can use chili and lime sauce provided separately.

2. RM Bravo
As per recommendation, this restaurant is also worth a visit to taste the typical dessert Makassar is green banana ice. modest concept and the hot enough weather would disappear instantly with the delicious cold ice green banana, banana pieces in a bandage of green flour thick enough to be served with ice cold. Sweet taste of banana with a layer of soft green flour and a bit chewy is perfect to be enjoyed in hot weather. In addition, we can also enjoy a jalangkote afternoon snack with a large size, crisp texture and tasty while warm.

3.Coto Nusantara
Perhaps most Indonesians know about this food. Makassar specialties that have been legendary from old times until now. Coto Nusantara is very popular in this city and there are several branches. This restaurant is very crowded even from the morning it looks busy and crowded. Coto Makassar with the presentation of a small bowl of beef with dark-colored gravy containing nuts and spices. I think the meat in the city of Makassar has a tough texture than usual,  they also served ketupat, lime and sambal to add a more savory taste.
4. Muda Mudi
Another option to enjoy es banana ijo or green banana ice can be at this restaurant. Muda Mudi is a famous spot for the people of Makassar. It's easy to come here where all the taxi drivers know about it. In the afternoon, visitors are quite crowded here. We can enjoy various fried foods such as jalangkote, risoles and croquettes with a vinegar sauce that is quite spicy. In addition, there is a typical Es Pisang Ijo, the ice is fewer but more subtle, the size of a large banana with a slightly dense flour texture.

5. Sop Saudara
Other than Coto, Makassar is popular with meat dishes typical soup. Similar to Makassar coto, serving in small bowls, soup with dark dark color containing beef or buffalo and potato ball also rice vermicelli. The meat is tender, the taste of the soup is tasty and available spicy sambal. This dish is very well suited to enjoy together with warm white rice.
6. RM Nelayan
Do not missed if visiting the city of Makassar with abundant sea heritage. RM Nelayan offers fresh seafood dishes with savory petis sauce. One menu that must be tested is kudu kudu fish which only exist in Makassar. This fish can be served with fried or grilled. Appearance of fish look terrified, with hard scales and patterns have a soft white meat like chicken. Or can enjoy the Sito shrimp with a size large enough, it have a sweet and tender meat.

7. Pangsit Mie Palu
In addition to seafood, a must-try food that is dumpling noodles. Many restaurants are available that serve this Chinese food, but only a few famous extends to all over Indonesia. One of them is Pangsit Mie Palu, looks crowded atmosphere and almost full by customers. Noodles with various meats, chicken, red pork, and pork tore. Then of course there are fried dumplings of meat, taste quite savory and  can be added soy sauce or sweet soy sauce.
8. Aan Ping Lao
Another option to enjoy dumpling noodles, namely Aan Ping Lao. A long-established restaurant with a name known to most of the people in Makassar. It is advisable to visit this outlet early because at the time after hours of lunch is always sold out. Same with other noodle dumplings, a bowl of noodles with chunks of red pork, grilled pork and chicken. Then there are boiled and fried dumplings too. The thick noodle shape with soft texture and tasty is very delicious. In addition to noodles, we can also enjoy chicken or pork porridge.

9. Ati Raja
Do not know clearly why this restaurant is named one of the song of South Sulawesi, Ati Raja. With menu Makassar specialties are very popular here. A bowl of meatballs consists of rough meatballs and soft, then complete with fried meatballs too. Soup is tasty and not greasy make this dish delicious. But I think there is no significant difference with meatballs in normally, it's just that meatballs in Ati Raja has a dense meat content compare to others.
10. Phoenam
It's incomplete if you do not visit a coffee shop in Makassar. Phoenam is a coffee shop that has been operating for more than 20 years with a simple and classic concept. The menu offered also in accordance with the concept such as black coffee, milk coffee or egg coffee. In addition to coffee, we can also enjoy afternoon snacks, toast with sweet srikaya jam.
This trip is full enough with the typical culinary Makassar city. Although there are several destinations that were closed for Eid al-Adha holiday, but I did satisfied in this holiday. Affordable hotels like Ibis Losari and Ibis Styles Ratulangi can be a choice with affordable standard rooms and a location close to the city center. Phoenix Gastrobar, Newest Aesthetic Lounge, Pantai Indah Kapuk, Jakarta

Bahasa l English Back to writing a blog, okay while I had time to break after the festive season in last December 2022. In 2023, of course, I hope to be able to actively blog again with the latest and interesting information that I think is memorable to convey. So like this bar that just opened in the Pantai Indah Kapuk area of Jakarta. Phoenix Gastrobar, a new concept presented by HWG, is one of the newest brands by the pioneers in the restaurant, bar, and club industry today. Next to each other between the two clubs presented before, are Tiger & Dragon Bar. The concept offered at Phoenix is completely different from previous HWG outlets. First I'll say the interior is absolutely stunning, with 3 story bar & lounge with stairs that reminds me of Hogwarts, the school in the Harry Potter movies. There is a DJ booth in the main area, a fountain that gives an elegant impression, and a bar station with a magnificent display rack of dozens of liquor. If you have frequently visi

Bahasa l English Almost every month we find new restaurants all over Jakarta. This time i visited Kelapa Gading area which i rarely explore. Monogram is one of the most trending cafes currently operating here. It does not take long to attract the attention of foodies in Jakarta and certainly other culinary enthusiasts. Monogram presents a modern concept with dominant dark colors that give a touch of elegance. A large area complete with a beautiful bar and there is a private space decorated with colorful paintings look instagramable. The menu concept offered is a modern theme that is currently trending in Jakarta society.
