Bloco de Carnaval, Bengawan Restaurant, Keraton, Central Jakarta

Bahasa l English

One of the best Sunday Brunch in Jakarta is at the Keraton The Plaza. With the elegant restaurant, Bengawan is located on the 7th floor of the Keraton hotel with views of the Jakarta city from an interesting height. With a large area that contains a capacity of about 40-50 people. Contemporary, artistic design, dominant with bright colors provides a pleasant atmosphere.
In the year 2018, Bengawan offers the latest Sunday brunch sensation with a concept called Bloco de Carnaval. A little explanation of this Brazilian phrase means a street bands are usually often seen in Rio with a lively crowd in the street as a carnival. With the presence of Brazilian chef Rafael Gil with a wealth of experience in the culinary industry, he is expert in presenting an exciting new menu concept. With theme typical of Brazil certainly attract the attention of Jakarta society.
One of the spot that attract attention here is when entering the Bengawan, we will be greeted by the dessert section complete with the statue of Cristo Redentor, which is an icon from Brazil made of chocolate base.
The classic Brazilian menu variant is clearly visible in one section that would have caught my attention. There are some foods like Moquecca Baiana, seabass dish with yellow spice with coconut milk, palm oil and vegetables. The creamy and savory flavors blend perfectly and are delicious when enjoyed with Arozz Temperado rice.
Jasmine rice with garlic and parsley to produce a very fragrant aroma. The savory taste and the texture of the rice is more dense than ordinary white rice. In this Bloco de Carnaval event we can also enjoy various seafood with varied preparations such as crab with a thick sauce, a savory taste and able with a choice of spicy sensation.
Enjoy a pleasant brunch with a variant menu plus a Samba dancer performance that gives a nice touch of Latin concept. Immediately all the guests seemed enthusiastic with the presence of two samba dancers. Do not forget after enjoying a variety of lunch dishes, can end with a typical dessert Brazil. However for some dishes it feels very dominant with the sweetness.
For the price offered is quite high, but in accordance with the concept of the Keraton of Jakarta that conform luxury hotel with good quality. In addition to a variety of dishes, guest will also be pampered with a champange sensation that will make the brunch to be perfect.

Tom's by Tom Aikens, The Langham Jakarta

Bahasa l English A sunny weekend where the pandemic conditions in Indonesia have been getting better lately. Activities in public spaces are getting normal, so we can find some places with crowds. One of them is this restaurant which took a few weeks for me to make a reservation in advance because it was full every weekend. The Langham Jakarta has only been operating this year and has attracted great enthusiasm from Jakarta's community. No exception with the restaurant which was built with a luxurious British concept and developed by a chef from England, Tom Aikens who manages a Michelin Star restaurant in London. Carrying the name Tom's by Tom Aikens with a variety of classic British dishes. The location of this restaurant is on the L floor, the reception area, and arguably the 62nd floor. A restaurant with a large enough area capacity, high ceilings, touches of white, blue, red sofas, and gold-tone lamps give the room an English-style atmosphere. Seen quite crowded visitors

Black Owl, PIK, Jakarta

Bahasa l English A favorite destination for the Jakarta community, which is famous for its hawker centers, from street food, restaurants to elegant lounge bars. This week, another good news for restaurant and bar fans, Black Owl is back in operation from the previous location in the PIK 1 area, now they are presented new location with a different concept. As soon as you pass through this area, you can clearly see the Black Owl with a black building with an owl logo on it. Seen the parking area is quite large and still not too crowded during the day. Once inside, we will pass through a hallway with a very high ceiling. My suggestion is it's best to make a reservation in advance to save your table. Black Owl comes with a restaurant and bar concept, a very stunning interior with dominant dark colors such as black and dark wooden material throughout the large room. The dim lights look calm and elegant, and what's amazing is the giant LCD screen that stretches to the ceiling. There
