La Moda, Plaza Indonesia, Central Jakarta

Bahasa l English

La Moda is one of the exclusive restaurants located in the middle of Plaza Indonesia shopping center. The central open area with the dominant white-sided hall gives the impression of elegance, gray tiles and wooden elements on tables and chairs with a plain, clean and exclusive feel. Comfortable atmosphere, each seat is equipped with a soft cushion that makes you feel at home.
The visit this time I had the opportunity to taste a variety of dishes from one of the Celebrity Chef, Yvonne Mei Wing that serves classic dishes of Chinese. Available menu mainstay like rice hainam which of course is quite familiar to society Jakarta. Hainam rice served with chunks of boiled chicken is quite tender, but it is a little bit plain. Highly recommended to enjoy it along with tasty hainam rice.
One of my favorite is Wanton that can be served fried or boiled and wet with broth sauce. A soft boiled wanton with delicious contents of vegetables and chicken meat. Combined with broth sauce and enjoyed together gives a perfect flavor.
Mapo tofu also my dinner menu choice this time. Served in a typical Chinese clay bowl, tofu with small boxed pieces processed with minced chicken meat and cooked with spices that tastes quite spicy. The dish is very delicious when enjoyed along with the warm rice.
Besides Chinese food, I also tried one of La Moda's signature is La Moda Ikan Bakar. Beautiful fish presentation with a tantalizing aroma, a thick brownish black color is served with chili sauce on top and comes with burned rice wrapped in leaves. The texture of soft fish, savory and spicy seasoning is really delicious. In addition, there is a fragrant aroma of smoky and gives a different flavor elements.
After some savory food, it is time for a sweet dessert there is mochi. Mochi with a chewy texture, the size of small balls served with sesame and bean sprinkles throughout the mochi section and beautiful presentation with colorful garnishes. At the time to eat it like a typical Java Onde, only there is a dominant almond nuts taste.
La Moda is indeed one of the most popular exclusive restaurants in Jakarta. With a strategic location, the dominant elegant concept and varied food dishes. Other info, the price offered is quite high where the customer may need to spend Rp100.000 per person. Service is quite friendly, but with a large enough area so it takes a little effort to call the waiter around.

Tom's by Tom Aikens, The Langham Jakarta

Bahasa l English A sunny weekend where the pandemic conditions in Indonesia have been getting better lately. Activities in public spaces are getting normal, so we can find some places with crowds. One of them is this restaurant which took a few weeks for me to make a reservation in advance because it was full every weekend. The Langham Jakarta has only been operating this year and has attracted great enthusiasm from Jakarta's community. No exception with the restaurant which was built with a luxurious British concept and developed by a chef from England, Tom Aikens who manages a Michelin Star restaurant in London. Carrying the name Tom's by Tom Aikens with a variety of classic British dishes. The location of this restaurant is on the L floor, the reception area, and arguably the 62nd floor. A restaurant with a large enough area capacity, high ceilings, touches of white, blue, red sofas, and gold-tone lamps give the room an English-style atmosphere. Seen quite crowded visitors

Black Owl, PIK, Jakarta

Bahasa l English A favorite destination for the Jakarta community, which is famous for its hawker centers, from street food, restaurants to elegant lounge bars. This week, another good news for restaurant and bar fans, Black Owl is back in operation from the previous location in the PIK 1 area, now they are presented new location with a different concept. As soon as you pass through this area, you can clearly see the Black Owl with a black building with an owl logo on it. Seen the parking area is quite large and still not too crowded during the day. Once inside, we will pass through a hallway with a very high ceiling. My suggestion is it's best to make a reservation in advance to save your table. Black Owl comes with a restaurant and bar concept, a very stunning interior with dominant dark colors such as black and dark wooden material throughout the large room. The dim lights look calm and elegant, and what's amazing is the giant LCD screen that stretches to the ceiling. There
