Ubud Spice, Pantai Indah Kapuk (PIK), North Jakarta

Available in Bahasa: Click Here

Not everyday we can see Bali restaurants in every corner of Jakarta. Well, after a while I did not visit the PIK Area which became one of the happening culinary areas in Jakarta, there is one restaurant that attract my attention is Ubud Spice. At a glance this name reminds me of a restaurant in Bali with a similar name.
From the Outside, this restaurant looks magnificent with large signboards and bright lights. Then, exterior with zen style, white and plain black and window glass that runs from bottom to top. Similarly, the interior of the restaurant is still with soft and plain colors such as white, black & cream. With a large area and equipped with sofas that look comfortable. In addition, there are beautiful Balinese ornaments and display adorn the restaurant.
As the name implies, this restaurant offers a popular Balinese menu of course. One of the signature menu must to try is Ubud Spice Signature Duck which is their specialties. Presentation of fried duck with a size large enough, then vegetables and 3 types of sambal (chili sauce) served separately. Balinese duck with a crisp texture and savory seasoning is certainly delicious. Then combined with a sambal consisting of sambal matah, fried onion chili and sambal terasi.
All the sambal has an amazing level of spiciness, it's just that the sambal terasi is not strong enough taste. Do not forget to enjoy with warm white rice and fresh vegetables would be perfect combination. Then there is the Pork Rib which is also a typical Balinese food.
Wooden plates with pork ribs grilled with soy sauce and seasonings, then served together with fries, vegetables and sweet soy sauce with chili. Pork ribs with a fragrant aroma, then a super tender texture is very delicious. If less savory, you can combine with sweet soy sauce that is also spicy.
Two menus that I tried this time certainly satisfactory, accompanied by a comfortable interior atmosphere and music that supports the atmosphere of relax and calm. The price offered is also quite standard in accordance with the portion of food served. Do not forget the service is quite friendly and the timing of food serving was quick enough would be a good point of customer satisfaction.

  2. hello marisa, nice to hear you. Not exactly a Balinese soundtrack, but assure you it was relaxed your dining experience. About price, we might spend about Rp 100,000 each person, since they do offer a quite high standard of restaurant. Don't forget let me know when you visit there while alone... :D

Black Owl, PIK, Jakarta

Bahasa l English A favorite destination for the Jakarta community, which is famous for its hawker centers, from street food, restaurants to elegant lounge bars. This week, another good news for restaurant and bar fans, Black Owl is back in operation from the previous location in the PIK 1 area, now they are presented new location with a different concept. As soon as you pass through this area, you can clearly see the Black Owl with a black building with an owl logo on it. Seen the parking area is quite large and still not too crowded during the day. Once inside, we will pass through a hallway with a very high ceiling. My suggestion is it's best to make a reservation in advance to save your table. Black Owl comes with a restaurant and bar concept, a very stunning interior with dominant dark colors such as black and dark wooden material throughout the large room. The dim lights look calm and elegant, and what's amazing is the giant LCD screen that stretches to the ceiling. There

Tom's by Tom Aikens, The Langham Jakarta

Bahasa l English A sunny weekend where the pandemic conditions in Indonesia have been getting better lately. Activities in public spaces are getting normal, so we can find some places with crowds. One of them is this restaurant which took a few weeks for me to make a reservation in advance because it was full every weekend. The Langham Jakarta has only been operating this year and has attracted great enthusiasm from Jakarta's community. No exception with the restaurant which was built with a luxurious British concept and developed by a chef from England, Tom Aikens who manages a Michelin Star restaurant in London. Carrying the name Tom's by Tom Aikens with a variety of classic British dishes. The location of this restaurant is on the L floor, the reception area, and arguably the 62nd floor. A restaurant with a large enough area capacity, high ceilings, touches of white, blue, red sofas, and gold-tone lamps give the room an English-style atmosphere. Seen quite crowded visitors
