Chanrey Tree, Siem Reap, Cambodia

Available in Bahasa: Click Here

Opportunity to visit Cambodia, of course one of the city that must be visited is Siem Reap. City with a lot of foreign tourists with the temples of historical relics are totally amazing. In addition, I also had the opportunity to visit one of the famous Khmer restaurant here with the name Chanrey Tree. Located in downtown Siem Reap close to the night market and city center.

From Sofitel where I stay, we only need 20 minutes by tuk tuk, public transport easily found here. In addition, at an affordable price of US $ 1.00 per person. Getting there, we were greeted with a friendly and smiling face. Here are 3 sections where there are a seat that leads to the courtyard & highway, on the inside with air conditioner or on the second floor with different views.

Due to the night with the weather is cool enough, then I choose a seat that leads to the yard, so can enjoy dinner while looking at the restaurant garden with beautiful decoration. For the starter, they present a fried banana that resembles chips with a sweet taste.
One of the recommended menu is Crispy Sticky Rice with "Natang" Sauce. Pork chops served with shrimp and in coconut milk then complete with glutinous rice cracker and frangipani flower fried crisp. Crispy rice with a distinctive frangipani flower flavored with tasty pork soup is delicious.
The next menu, Beef Luk Lak, is one of Khmer's famous specialties with cuts of tenderloin, garlic, pepper lime sauce and green leaf garnishes. Tenderloin with a soft texture and consistent slices, with tasty flavor, and poured by lime sauce provide the perfect combination.
The last main course I tried was Goby Steamed Fish. Steamed goby fish with soya sauce, ginger, and leeks. The menu has a sour, fresh taste and a super tender fish meat. Complete with scallions that give a fragrant aroma.
Then I also tried dessert, but I forgot what the name of the food is. Sticky rice stuffed into the jackfruit and then served with vanilla ice cream placed on top of the peanut crumbs. It tastes super sweet, and I think it's a bit over sweet. But if enjoyed together with ice cream would provide a pleasant taste.
Chanrey Tree is certainly my recommendation if you visit Siem Reap, in addition to amazing food, they also have a beautiful place for dinner and of course with exclusive service.

One of them is this restaurant which took a few weeks for me to make a reservation in advance because it was full every weekend. The Langham Jakarta has only been operating this year and has attracted great enthusiasm from Jakarta's community. No exception with the restaurant which was built with a luxurious British concept and developed by a chef from England, Tom Aikens who manages a Michelin Star restaurant in London.
