Robot & Co, SCBD, Jakarta

Bahasa l English

A high-end atmosphere, the hustle after office hours makes this restaurant looks hype at night. Strategically located in front of the mall lobby area, so it is easily accessible. Robot & Co brings the concept of dining & lounge with a variety of modern twist but elegant gourmet style. On this occasion, I tasted several mainstay dishes in this restaurant.

The area is quite wide with indoor and semi-outdoor parts with glass face through the road and still enjoy the view outside. The dinner began with a starter, Tuna Tartar. Familiar menu, a dish made from a fresh cut of fish combined with the taste of citrus that is sour, bengkoang (yam bean) also served along with avocado and egg yolks that provide a balanced flavor.

Followed by Pan Seared Salmon, still a fairly common menu in Jakarta restaurants. Served slightly thick orange lemonade veloute, then fried leeks, a sizeable potato gratin and salad. Smooth salmon texture with the right cook. Seasoning that is balanced and quite tasty. You could say even though it's simple, the potato gratin is also amazing.

For 2nd main course, Lamb Shoulder. The texture is really soft and has a very strong aroma. Cooked for 35 hours certainly makes the meat absorb the seasoning perfectly. Then served with a thick and savory sauce. Sidedish like tomatoes and potatoes make the right complement.

The dessert became the most memorable for me. Even though I'm not a fan of dessert, but Blueberry Choc Cake Sable here is truly amazing. A layer of milk chocolate mousse with blueberries combines sweet and sour flavors together when eaten. Coupled with the blueberry jam that gives a pleasant aroma.

My Dinner experience here is practically memorable. The various dishes that are served are true of high quality. Not just following the trend, but Robot & Co also serves food with quality ingredients and flavor that is recommended. It's just an important point that needs to be improved, faster serving time would be better.

New Opening, August, Jakarta

Bahasa l English This month has indeed become a moment where the restaurant and hotel business has begun to attract customers with various offers. Not to forget, the opening of several new restaurants has also colored the city of Jakarta recently. One of them is August, which is located in the Sudirman area, more precisely at Sequis Tower. This restaurant has opened on November 25th, 2021. The elegant and premium concept can be seen from the exterior and interior of the restaurant. The area is quite spacious with a charming bar in the front room, then an open kitchen which provides an interesting experience for guests to see the activities of the chefs in the lively kitchen. On weekends, you can see the number of guests filling the entire table, it's a good idea to make a reservation in advance . When I had dinner there, they happened to have no available alcohol because they were taking care of licensing and distribution issues. So I brought wine with a corkage fee of IDR 250,000

Tom's by Tom Aikens, The Langham Jakarta

Bahasa l English A sunny weekend where the pandemic conditions in Indonesia have been getting better lately. Activities in public spaces are getting normal, so we can find some places with crowds. One of them is this restaurant which took a few weeks for me to make a reservation in advance because it was full every weekend. The Langham Jakarta has only been operating this year and has attracted great enthusiasm from Jakarta's community. No exception with the restaurant which was built with a luxurious British concept and developed by a chef from England, Tom Aikens who manages a Michelin Star restaurant in London. Carrying the name Tom's by Tom Aikens with a variety of classic British dishes. The location of this restaurant is on the L floor, the reception area, and arguably the 62nd floor. A restaurant with a large enough area capacity, high ceilings, touches of white, blue, red sofas, and gold-tone lamps give the room an English-style atmosphere. Seen quite crowded visitors
