Barbecue Feast, Meatsmith, Jakarta

Bahasa l English

Good news for the Jakarta community with the arrival of the new Meatsmith restaurant from Singapore. A modern barbecue concept that presents the experience of enjoying a variety of meat dishes that are processed using the wood-fire method to produce a barbecue that is smoky, tender, and juicy.

Located in the South Jakarta area, it looks like a 2-storey building with a large entrance. On the ground floor, there is a Meatsmith Express section which is planned to provide a variety of take-away dishes, where currently enthusiastic food delivery is in great demand. Then there is an outdoor area with simple decorations, wood, and urban colors such as black and gray combine with each other and add green elements with plants around the area.

For the indoor dining area on the 2nd floor, the capacity is quite standard for a restaurant around 40-50 seats. Complete with an enchanting wine cellar and bar. In accordance with the concept, wine. A variety of wines are available here from the best wine-producing countries to choose.

Are you familiar with barbecue restaurants? Surely, the must-order menu here is a variety of grill dishes with a choice of chicken and beef. For your information, Meatsmith in Jakarta was built with the concept without pork. There is no pork menu available here. The next menu that I tried, Jerk Chicken Chop, even though it sounds simple, but it takes good skill to process chicken is quite tricky. Apart from being soft, the texture is also juicy, with a fragrant smoky aroma and the right seasoning.

This platter with various meats is complete with Beef Short Ribs, Beef Brisket, 300g Striploin complete with several kinds of pickles from beetroot, cucumber, corn mayo, salad. Then various bbq sauces, béarnaise, chimichurri, and others. Meat dishes with a simple classic presentation, fragrant smoky aroma, juicy and tender meat texture will be a special dish, especially for you meat lovers.

For starters, sides or snacks such as Scotch Quail Egg, the texture is crunchy with quail eggs in it, only a little salty. Then the Beef Brisket Sprig Rolls, at a glance it looks like an Indonesian-style chocolate banana, the filling is beef marmalade with BBQ aioli, the sweet savory taste and the texture of the tender meat are really delicious. Or Beef Hot Dog will be an interesting snack to try, a Western dish with a touch of Asian-Indonesian taste, simple and delicious.

Barbecue side dishes such as soft, buttery, and sweet Cornbread. Soft Smoked Potato Puree, Charred Broccoli balance the flavors and fresh Meatsmith Slaw. Don't miss dessert as a cover, Lemon Curd Cheesecake, with a layer of lemon on top, cheese, and crumbles on the bottom. Or sweet lovers, Marshmallow Skewer will make a legit sweetener dish.

Although there are quite a number of restaurants with grill concepts in Jakarta, Meatsmith has a different profile where they are very experienced with the wood fire barbecue technique which does produce better quality dishes than the oven. The ingredients used are of good and premium standards so there is no need for too much seasoning or dressing that will only cover the taste of the meat.
