Dapoer Podjok, Senayan City, South Jakarta

Talking about Indonesian food, of course we do have unlimited spot to go in town. Either at malls or all around downtown city. Now i'd like to mention one of Indonesian restaurant at Senayan City mall. It is called Dapoer Podjok.

It is located at lower ground floor. From front side you could see huge letter signage up of the restaurant. Actually this place has lovely theme with classic betawi style, then very beautiful floor around. You would see various colors and pretty pattern.

I ordered two main courses here. First came out is "Nasi Goreng Kampung" which means village or traditional fried rice. Traditional here is mean in Indonesian style. What surprise it is really huge plate of fried rice.

Too bad, rice is kinda wet though, it taste too much water while cooking it i assume. Overall it is quite good seasoning but i only could find alot of shredded eggs and vegies. I expected Indonesian typical fried rice should have chicken slices but none here.

For the next dish was a "Lontong Cap Gomeh" it is rice cake in coconut soup with spices. It also served in huge bowl for a person. Another problem here, i think they should fixed up how to make good seasoning. Different with the fried rice, this one is under seasoning. Even though thick yellow color, but i couldn't taste good enough of it.

They sure have good concept of Indonesian food, nice food presentation and beautiful place. One thing they should do better is making a good seasoning i think. For quite high price since we know it is typical Indonesian food which is you could eat any eateries somewhere, but it is fair enough for portion they serve though.

Black Owl, PIK, Jakarta

Bahasa l English A favorite destination for the Jakarta community, which is famous for its hawker centers, from street food, restaurants to elegant lounge bars. This week, another good news for restaurant and bar fans, Black Owl is back in operation from the previous location in the PIK 1 area, now they are presented new location with a different concept. As soon as you pass through this area, you can clearly see the Black Owl with a black building with an owl logo on it. Seen the parking area is quite large and still not too crowded during the day. Once inside, we will pass through a hallway with a very high ceiling. My suggestion is it's best to make a reservation in advance to save your table. Black Owl comes with a restaurant and bar concept, a very stunning interior with dominant dark colors such as black and dark wooden material throughout the large room. The dim lights look calm and elegant, and what's amazing is the giant LCD screen that stretches to the ceiling. There

Tom's by Tom Aikens, The Langham Jakarta

Bahasa l English A sunny weekend where the pandemic conditions in Indonesia have been getting better lately. Activities in public spaces are getting normal, so we can find some places with crowds. One of them is this restaurant which took a few weeks for me to make a reservation in advance because it was full every weekend. The Langham Jakarta has only been operating this year and has attracted great enthusiasm from Jakarta's community. No exception with the restaurant which was built with a luxurious British concept and developed by a chef from England, Tom Aikens who manages a Michelin Star restaurant in London. Carrying the name Tom's by Tom Aikens with a variety of classic British dishes. The location of this restaurant is on the L floor, the reception area, and arguably the 62nd floor. A restaurant with a large enough area capacity, high ceilings, touches of white, blue, red sofas, and gold-tone lamps give the room an English-style atmosphere. Seen quite crowded visitors
