Exquisite Cantonese Flavour, T'ang Court Jakarta

 Bahasa l English

As a fan of high-end dining, it's good news for me when a restaurant brand that has received a Michelin Star award in Hong Kong opens a branch in Jakarta. Precisely at Hotel Langham Jakarta, T'ang Court is a Cantonese Chinese restaurant located on the 61st floor with stunning views of Jakarta's skyline from a magnificent height.
Compared to T'ang Court in Hong Kong, the interior is completely different. Elegant, and modern, playing with elements such as wood, marble, and bright colors on the chairs. In every corner, there is a shelf with a plate display with a beautiful bird pattern. The atmosphere is quiet even though I came there at lunchtime on the weekend seen 2-3 tables seated. The capacity of public space is also not too big, but according to the information they provide a large number of private rooms.

The concept of the T'ang Court restaurant menu itself is quite familiar to me, who has been fond of high-end restaurants both in town and abroad. The concept of this classic Cantonese restaurant is already well known and has been awarded a Michelin Star since 2009 when the Michelin Guide was first launched in Hong Kong and Macau. One of the menus that are excellent here is the Signature Peking Duck. (IDR 888.000++)

This dish can be shared by 3-4 people, a dry-age duck with a size large enough to be served with Chinese pancakes, fried rice, and various dressings that can be eaten together. Basically, I'm not a fan of the duck dish because of its distinctive aroma. But it is undeniable that there is a price, of course, there is quality. Likewise, this Peking Duck really gives an impressive taste. Crispy skin and tender meat texture enjoyed with a sweet and savory Hoisin sauce made me quite addicted to eating this. In addition, with duck fried rice, Yangzhou-style fried rice with duck meat cubes is very comfortable to enjoy.

Besides Peking Duck, one of the mandatory menus here is Deep-Fried Stuffed Crab Shell (IDR 228.000++). According to this information, it is one of the menus that highlighted T'ang Court Hong Kong to become a Michelin Star restaurant. However, it's a little different in Jakarta using the deep-fried technique while in Hong Kong it's baked. Crab meat wrapped in a crispy, tender crumble, and moist crab inside.

I'm quite impressed with the lunch experience here, the quality menu with premium ingredients gives value to a simple dish to be elegant. Besides that, the overall atmosphere of the restaurant is comfortable, and the calm music makes me enjoy my time there. The price, it is quite high according to the location and also the concept of T'ang Court. There are also other menus such as seafood or pork. Because it was my first visit there, I only tried the chef's recommended menus. How about you guys interested to stop by?

Phoenix Gastrobar, Newest Aesthetic Lounge, Pantai Indah Kapuk, Jakarta

Bahasa l English Back to writing a blog, okay while I had time to break after the festive season in last December 2022. In 2023, of course, I hope to be able to actively blog again with the latest and interesting information that I think is memorable to convey. So like this bar that just opened in the Pantai Indah Kapuk area of Jakarta. Phoenix Gastrobar, a new concept presented by HWG, is one of the newest brands by the pioneers in the restaurant, bar, and club industry today. Next to each other between the two clubs presented before, are Tiger & Dragon Bar. The concept offered at Phoenix is completely different from previous HWG outlets. First I'll say the interior is absolutely stunning, with 3 story bar & lounge with stairs that reminds me of Hogwarts, the school in the Harry Potter movies. There is a DJ booth in the main area, a fountain that gives an elegant impression, and a bar station with a magnificent display rack of dozens of liquor. If you have frequently visi

Tom's by Tom Aikens, The Langham Jakarta

Bahasa l English A sunny weekend where the pandemic conditions in Indonesia have been getting better lately. Activities in public spaces are getting normal, so we can find some places with crowds. One of them is this restaurant which took a few weeks for me to make a reservation in advance because it was full every weekend. The Langham Jakarta has only been operating this year and has attracted great enthusiasm from Jakarta's community. No exception with the restaurant which was built with a luxurious British concept and developed by a chef from England, Tom Aikens who manages a Michelin Star restaurant in London. Carrying the name Tom's by Tom Aikens with a variety of classic British dishes. The location of this restaurant is on the L floor, the reception area, and arguably the 62nd floor. A restaurant with a large enough area capacity, high ceilings, touches of white, blue, red sofas, and gold-tone lamps give the room an English-style atmosphere. Seen quite crowded visitors
