Bahasa l English

This blessed month of Ramadan is a breath of fresh air for us when the Indonesian population carries out a vaccination process to deal with the spread of Covid-19 in the future. Maybe most of you certainly miss the moment of breaking your fast together that couldn't be done in 2020. But according to government regulations, this year breaking the fast can be done as long as you run the new normal protocol from hotels, restaurants, and the guests too.

This time I visited one of the luxury hotels in the Pondok Indah area which is certainly famous. InterContinental Jakarta presents an iftar experience with the theme of Royal Iftar, you will be presented with royal-style decorations in the Middle East so that it looks luxurious, gold colors adorn the room combined with charming crystal lamps in the ballroom of InterContinental Jakarta Pondok Indah.

At the Royal Iftar, InterContinental Jakarta collaborates with Chef Degan Septoadji, an experienced senior chef who was nominated for Best Asian Chef at the World Summit Singapore in 2012 and he is also better known as one of the judges on the famous cooking TV show, Masterchef Indonesia.

Here chef Degan serves several of his top dishes such as Rawon Lidah, Sayur Lodeh Salmon, Prawn Fried Sambal, Balinese Seasoned Fried Chicken, and Balinese Bumbu Duck. In this menu section, Chef Degan will immediately serve you. It's an interesting experience, right? You guys are immediately served by the celebrity chef.

Apart from Indonesian specialties, you can also find various Middle Eastern food such as Mandi Rice, Grilled Lamb, Shawarma, Shish Kebab, and Morrocan Seafood Tangine. If you count it, maybe the total menu variants here are around 80-90 types of menus if you go around the entire area.

This Royal Iftar will run from 13th April - 12th May 2021 at a price of IDR 448,000 ++ per person. Breaking the fast here is a very elegant experience, abundant dishes, charming decorations, of course, can be an interesting photo spot. Don't forget to try the Signature Toffee Dates Cake, a sweet date cake that's really delicious and a perfect dish to break your fast.

Tom's by Tom Aikens, The Langham Jakarta

Bahasa l English A sunny weekend where the pandemic conditions in Indonesia have been getting better lately. Activities in public spaces are getting normal, so we can find some places with crowds. One of them is this restaurant which took a few weeks for me to make a reservation in advance because it was full every weekend. The Langham Jakarta has only been operating this year and has attracted great enthusiasm from Jakarta's community. No exception with the restaurant which was built with a luxurious British concept and developed by a chef from England, Tom Aikens who manages a Michelin Star restaurant in London. Bahasa l English 2022 is here! Welcoming the new year with joy and enthusiasm. This time I will tell you about a Japanese restaurant in the Golf Island area, PIK which is currently one of the trending destinations in Jakarta. It is undeniable that Japanese cuisine has indeed become one of Jakarta's society's favorites, so many Japanese restaurants can be found here. As a lover of authentic food, I really prefer Japanese restaurants that prioritize quality ingredients and classic tastes, although the current twist food variant is also very interesting. Sushi Maru has been operating since the end of 2021, with a Japanese feel in general using a wooden theme interior throughout the area. There are two floors with a large area capacity. But keep in mind, you should make a reservation before coming here, especially on weekends. One of the top menus here is Japanese Oyster, especially Reiwa Oyster, this dish is only available upon request. With a size that is much larger than the lo...
