In the previous article, we explained about Good France which became the biggest festival to preserve French gastronomy in 153 international countries. This year there are 21 restaurants participating in this festival and one of them is Amuz Gourmet, which is the best French restaurant in Jakarta.
At Good France 2019, as always Amuz Gourmet offers the sensation of enjoying a set menu. It was fun when we had the opportunity to attend the preview dinner here together with the Jakarta media. Nothing else, Gilles Marx is a reliable chef behind this restaurant. He became one of the favorite chefs we admire in Indonesia.
On this Good France event, Amuz Gourmet offers a set menu consisting of 6 dishes including amuse bouche and dessert. In accordance with France, the set menu starts with an amuse bouche, a small dish that is usually identified with one bite. Gougere (French puffs) and mushroom truffle soup are the perfect combinations. Both have different fragrant scents, the soft gougere texture and the tempting aroma of cheese are enjoyed along with soups which certainly pampered the tongue. For truffle lovers, this is truly addictive.
Several times visiting Amuz, most menus are quite familiar, but this time we found a quite different dish, Poached Lombok Langouste with Bufala Mozzarella Terrine. Carrying local Indonesian ingredients, using shrimp from Lombok served on soft cheese, enjoyed along with tomato espuma, tomatoes which go through an infused process to become a foam with a unique aroma. The whole taste of this dish is fresh and really increases appetite.
The next menu is Escargot a la Bourguignonne, a signature dish from Amuz which is always our favorite. As for the main course, Amuz serves Canard a l'Orange. Slow-roasted duck ingredients combined with orange sauce so that it gives a unique taste. Duck meat is quite tender, it's just a little dry, the skin is crispy but some of the parts feels tough.
Talking about Amuz, of course, complete with French Cheese. Before dessert, we enjoyed the Selection of French Cheeses, French cheese variety is served along with berries for balance. For dessert, it looks like a dish we've never met before. Coconut parfait served in a bowl is made of chocolate, an amazing appearance and fresh flavors from mango jelly and salsa are rich in flavor.
The Good France experience at Amuz once again satisfying for us. Being one of the high-end dinings that deserves a thumbs up, it certainly offers amazing quality dishes. You could say Amuz remains the best French restaurant today compared to other restaurants in Jakarta. For those of you who never tasted Good France set menu in Amuz, don't worry, every year Amuz Gourmet would participate in this festival. Prepare yourself to take part in this occasion next year.
