This lately, Kempinski Jakarta has been organized culinary event called "5 Islands in 5 Weeks" Which is offering variant of Indonesia cuisines from several island and city. This time i have chance to try Sulawesi and Maluku style dishes.
I had been several time having dinner in Signature Restaurant Kempinski, as i know it is great place and foods i found here. And as this time also, they are serving many variant of menu. First i try for starter is not a casual Indonesia dish, but it is Japanese actually. I can't missed fresh sashimi though.
It is full plate slices of Salmon, Maguro, Toro, Tako completed with Soyu, Ginger & Wasabi. All Ingredients absolutely in fresh condition, perfect colour, and surely it is pleasure! Next coming is other seafood creatures.
It is full set seafood by Prawns, Scallops, Musells, and bunch of Crab. Surely it fresh as well, it does feel seafood smell which is good, and each bites of it absolutely fantastic.
So far the starters is taste good, made me more excited for more foods to go. Next dish is typical starter of Sulawesi cuisines.
It is kind of like a salad in Sulawesi style. It's consist of Spicy Tuna, Bitter Gourd, Corn Bakwan, Cut of Mango in Spicy and Bunch of several tropical Fruits in Peanut Sauce. For note, all food are spicy, but it does fresh as the concept, consistent and much of taste. Each dish absolutely different. When it turns out so hot, chili got me much, i need a cold drink indeed. Kiwi Juice is good choice.
Fuh, this helps me! and i am ready for next dish is set of another appetizers from Sulawesi.
It has a chicken in curry, sauteed longbean, slices of chicken, white noodles and bunch of eggs. For this set, i am not quiet like it much, chicken curry is too soft which is texture is gone, vegetables is bitter, what better is the grilled chicken, white noodles and eggs are just fine. After this, i am having Coto Makassar.
This is taste great, good seasoning, meats are good as well, perfect smell and taste. When it done, i am ready for the main course, it comes out plate of variant dishes of Sulawesi islands. It's consisted of chicken, fish, beef, sauteed basil, sweet potato and bunch of soursop.
All are in good seasoning, each dish have different taste, but surely all cooked well done. Another main course come out plate of Fried Noodles, Prawns, Fish, Chicken, Crabs and Pumpkin Vegetables.
This also great, more foods with more taste. I absolutely feels great with this many variant of foods we could taste. The rest i found after Sulawesi main course, here's got few side dish like Yellow Rice, Chicken in black seasoning with two variant of chili sauce. For note, chili are super spicy.
Yellow rice is in good seasoning, taste and flavor all blended well. Next what i take is set of general main course. It has a tempura, chicken in sweet sauce, bunch of mushroom, pepper and lamb in sauce.
And here also got other dishes like Typical Sulawesi Porridge, Barongko, Banana Ice Dessert, and also international dessert Tiramisu and Mango Pudding with cream.
