Olivier, Grand Indonesia Mall, Central Jakarta

Another Fusion Restaurant just open in town. Olivier at Grand Indonesia Mall has been run about couple months. From it name, it is obviously Western style restaurant, but in fact they also serve variant of Asian cuisines.

From the outside, european typical elements is really strong wooden with glass door, dark color either brown or dark brown, we may see a pastry displayed when come inside restaurant, and then we would approach the receptionist counter after pass through it. At dinner time, this place is quiet crowded at the bar, for note in this restaurant we would see non-smoking area is close with the window and side door, for smoking are would right inside the restaurant since they also has a bar corner.

Since i am prefer non-smoking area, so waitress lend us table just right next to the window where we could see outside of the streets, building of Grand Indonesia Mall. Before start our main dish, welcoming bread is come out first. what is bit funny is, waiter is asking "do we order one or two welcoming bread". Actually we didn't order any of it, thought it is for free. :-) So it is free, probably waiter bit confused how many bread do we need.

For note, maybe it is our culture while serving appetizer, main course or even dessert in a same time. What i expected, it should be served literally one by one. So Welcoming bread was came out along with the Spaghetti, quiet huge bread, at least we need 10-15 mins to finished it. While that, i supposed spaghetti would be cold then. Nevermind, just go with it.

Bread is fine, what rarely you found in town is butter mixed with cut of chili. Main taste is butter with spicy. Done and start with the spaghetti.

It is Spaghetti with Prawn, Spicy Tomato Sauce and Sambal Terasi Paste. It does Red color indeed! looks spicy obviously. It is very tasty, spaghetti has been blended well with the terasi paste. and not too spicy which is well done. what i ordered next is Dory Meruniere A La Grenobloise, Sauteed French Beans and Cherry Tomato.

It looks stunning, nice color of dory. It is nice seasoning, good texture along with olive. Each bites has pleasure and French beans is crunchy, nice bite and great seasoning as well. I absolutely love this one.

So overall this restaurant has nice concept, European-Asian Fushion, even though service not that good, but at least i could taste pleasure of the dishes.

New Opening, August, Jakarta

Bahasa l English This month has indeed become a moment where the restaurant and hotel business has begun to attract customers with various offers. Not to forget, the opening of several new restaurants has also colored the city of Jakarta recently. One of them is August, which is located in the Sudirman area, more precisely at Sequis Tower. This restaurant has opened on November 25th, 2021. The elegant and premium concept can be seen from the exterior and interior of the restaurant. The area is quite spacious with a charming bar in the front room, then an open kitchen which provides an interesting experience for guests to see the activities of the chefs in the lively kitchen. On weekends, you can see the number of guests filling the entire table, it's a good idea to make a reservation in advance . When I had dinner there, they happened to have no available alcohol because they were taking care of licensing and distribution issues. So I brought wine with a corkage fee of IDR 250,000

Tom's by Tom Aikens, The Langham Jakarta

Bahasa l English A sunny weekend where the pandemic conditions in Indonesia have been getting better lately. Activities in public spaces are getting normal, so we can find some places with crowds. One of them is this restaurant which took a few weeks for me to make a reservation in advance because it was full every weekend. The Langham Jakarta has only been operating this year and has attracted great enthusiasm from Jakarta's community. No exception with the restaurant which was built with a luxurious British concept and developed by a chef from England, Tom Aikens who manages a Michelin Star restaurant in London. Carrying the name Tom's by Tom Aikens with a variety of classic British dishes. The location of this restaurant is on the L floor, the reception area, and arguably the 62nd floor. A restaurant with a large enough area capacity, high ceilings, touches of white, blue, red sofas, and gold-tone lamps give the room an English-style atmosphere. Seen quite crowded visitors
