It doesn't feel like time has passed quickly and the season for Ramadan has arrived. Passing through a pandemic that has occurred for more than two years has made many regulations from the government to stop gathering activities, especially in public spaces. Good news is felt by all people in the world today when they are recovering both in terms of social and economic business. Not to be left behind in Jakarta, a metropolitan city that is always busy with various activities.
It feels fast, in 2023 the first semester will arrive the season of Ramadan which Indonesia has always been waiting for. The moment when Muslims do fasting in welcome Eid. Of course, an interesting activity in this fasting month is breaking the fast together, or called bukber (Breaking fast together). For loyal readers, I will share options for breaking the fast with various hotels in Jakarta that offer an all-you-can-eat buffet with various menus, both local and international. Please check out below:

1. Intercontinental Jakarta Pondok Indah
To celebrate this blessed moment, InterContinental Jakarta Pondok Indah prepares a variety of premium quality treats inviting guests to celebrate Ramadhan and Idul Fitri in a luxurious InterContinental style. Collaboration with two well-known Indonesian designers, Rinaldy Yunardi and Nefianto Setiono, Artists in Residence of well-known hotels in 2022-2023, has again transformed hotels into full of charm. For the iftar menu, this time Intercontinental Jakarta invites Chef Norman Ismail to join the culinary team presenting a selection of Indonesian dishes which are of course a favorite. From rawon, crab with shrimp bisque, and many more. This Iftar buffet is offered at IDR 698,000++/pax from 21 Mar - 22 April 2023.

2. The Westin Jakarta
This year, Westin Jakarta is again offering iftar meals in Ramadan tent style and an outdoor terrace, which serves as a dining area & lounge. Named after the iconic lantern historically used to mean "light of the world", Al Fanous offers irresistible variations of Middle Eastern and Indonesian cuisine as well as shisha delights. Enjoy delicious Turkish cuisine, brought by renowned Specialty Chef Ugur Takak from Sheraton Oman to downtown Jakarta. Featuring a variety of rice creations, meat, and typical Ramadan desserts, specially made to evoke warmth and unite family and friends. Available exclusively from 23 March to 21 April 2023 at IDR 528,000++/pax.

3. Sari Pacific Jakarta, Autograph Collection
Welcoming the celebration of Ramadan for the first time in 2023, Sari Pacific Jakarta, Autograph Collection combines unique traditions from the Middle East. The magnificent and sparkling gate typical of Middle Eastern empires is presented to give a warm impression to guests who have just arrived in the Porte Cochere area. The guests were also spoiled and entertained with typical Middle Eastern dances such as Tanoura, Sufi Whirling, Zapin, and Al-Ardah which are spectacular performances and bring the atmosphere of Ramadan to a higher level. THE HOLY BLESSING Iftar Buffet is also served for visiting guests. Starting at IDR 300,000++ per person, guests can enjoy delicious Middle Eastern menus such as Lamb Ozi, Tulang Sum Sum, Nasi Mandi, Chicken Shawarma with Pita Bread, Takjil, Martabak, Es Campur, and other unique menus such as durian.

4. The Hermitage, a Tribute Portfolio Hotel
At the moment of Ramadhan this year, The Hermitage's special collaboration with Andien Aisyah, a musician, and female solo singer who is famous in Indonesia. Welcoming this Ramadan, The Hermitage presents an Iftar dinner with the Peranakan menu concept. Various dishes that are quite familiar such as satay, laksa, crab meatballs, salmon curry, and many others. Or another option in the rooftop area while enjoying a variety of Middle Eastern dishes in collaboration with Al Jazeerah Restaurant and Padang dishes in collaboration with Pagi Sore. For Iftar dinner in the main dining room 1928, the price is IDR 528,000++/pax, while at La Vue rooftop IDR 298,000++/pax.

5. Mandarin Oriental Jakarta
Ramadan is a moment to learn to be better by fasting physically and spiritually, besides that Ramadan is a time for family and friends to gather with each other. Offering Iftar dinner at Cinnamon, Mandarin Oriental Jakarta presents a variety of Indonesian dishes that are always a favorite such as ketupat sayur, grilled fish, and tempting menus such as meat carvings. The quality of food in this hotel is always amazing based on my experience. For Iftar dinner, the price is IDR 588,000++/pax.

6. JW Marriott Hotel Jakarta
In this holy month of Ramadan, guests can bring their family or friends to gather and break their fast at Sailendra Restaurant which is familiar to the Jakarta community. Here you will be served a variety of Middle Eastern and Indonesian dishes such as Chicken Katti Roll, Zaatar Manageesh, Falafel, Grilled Chicken, Kentang Balado, Parape Grilled Fish, and many more. Of course, all food is served with 5-star hotel quality standards, and the interior nuances are classic elegant contemporary with a large space capacity. The price for Iftar dinner here is IDR 488,000++/pax in weeks 1 and 4, then IDR 558,000++/pax in weeks 2 and 3. There is also a choice of Pop-up Almas restaurants with a different concept, and a more unique Middle Eastern menu also popular at the moment of Ramadan. The price is IDR 400,000++/pax in weeks 1 and 4, then IDR 450,000++/pax in weeks 2 and 3.

7. Swissôtel Jakarta PIK Avenue
This Ramadan special collaboration is Swissôtel Jakarta with a chef from Swissôtel Bosphorus. For the Iftar Dinner, the menu concept offered is a variety of Turkish specialties. Chef Göktan Sarisoy, with his expertise in cooking Turkish dishes, of course, presents different choices for breaking the fast. Menus include Yayla Soup, Arnavut Cigeri (shrimp casserole), Shrimp Casserole, and Hünkârbeğendi (sweet sticky rice dessert). Iftar Dinner is offered at this hotel with a choice of two locations that are Summers at The Pool and The Chinese National at a price of IDR 328,000++/pax. Various promotions are available such as Buy 4 Get 5, a 5% discount for CIMB Niaga World ALL cards, and a 10% discount for Accor Live Limitless cardholders and Accor Plus members.

8. Le Méridien Jakarta
Back to the Central Jakarta area, of course, you are familiar with this 5-star hotel in the Sudirman. Le Méridien Jakarta offers an Iftar dinner with a mega buffet concept that serves more than 100 types of food for guests to enjoy. This mega buffet is a combination of 3 restaurants that are, La Brasserie Restaurant, Al Nafoura Lebanese Restaurant, and Poolside Pop-Up Restaurant. Dishes that are very diverse both local Indonesian and international are available here. Each restaurant area offers a different atmosphere and a variety of food choices. For this mega buffet, the price is IDR 750,000 net/pax, apart from that, individual buffets are also available at each restaurant with the following details:

Monogram Bistro, Kelapa Gading, North Jakarta

Bahasa l English Almost every month we find new restaurants all over Jakarta. This time i visited Kelapa Gading area which i rarely explore. Monogram is one of the most trending cafes currently operating here. It does not take long to attract the attention of foodies in Jakarta and certainly other culinary enthusiasts. From the outside it looks magnificent with a big signboard that clearly shows the writing of Monogram. While there is a second floor which is a karaoke area with a different brand. Monogram presents a modern concept with dominant dark colors that give a touch of elegance. A large area complete with a beautiful bar and there is a private space decorated with colorful paintings look instagramable.
