Already familiar with this name, Renatta Moeloek. A famous chef in Indonesia became one of the judges of the viral cooking competition, Masterchef Indonesia. This time together with Gioi, chef Renatta collaborated with the theme "Delicious Pairing with Chef Renatta Moeloek" as well as Hennessy, who is certainly familiar with this whisky specialized.

Located at Gioi Senopati where guests will be offered a set menu or a la carte. Each dish here includes 3 types of cocktails with a base of whiskey from Hennessy. There are several choices of cocktails from smooth to strong alcohol levels. Served in a mini shot glass so it looks attractive and exquisite.

This collaboration consists of 1 type of appetizer, Crispy Pork Belly Bao (3 pcs) this Asian-style dish contains crispy pork slices, in a soft bun, with a combination of pickles, hoisin sauce, and sesame. The texture of the bun is ok, tender, the crispy pork gives satisfaction in every bite. Then the combination of savory and fresh pickles and sauces provides the right harmony of flavors.

Followed by 3 types of main courses, but I only tried 2 dishes, namely, Glazed Duck Breast with Wedang Uwuh Jam. A duck dish made with chef Renatta's wedang uwuh jam, as far as I know, this wedang uwuh is prepared from various spices and is original from Central Java. Then green vegetables provide a balance of taste. The duck is quite tender, but unfortunately, the smell of the duck is still too strong and the skin is a bit tough so it is not pleasant to enjoy.

The next dish, Grilled Jimbaran Tiger Prawn. Seafood dishes have always been my favorite. Tiger prawn with a size that is quite large and tempting, served with red sauce, fresh pickles on the top, and delicious plecing kangkung. This dish is really delicious with a distinctive Indonesian taste that suits local taste buds. Grilled prawn can't be denied, it has a smoky aroma with a soft texture and it is tasty.

Dessert dish with Sticky Black Rice Pudding, black sticky rice with dates butterscotch sauce with a distinctive aroma and a legit sweet taste, perfect to be enjoyed with the cocktail. As I said before, each dish is served with a cocktail available in this collaboration menu. Guests can enjoy cocktails such as Eau de Vie, a mixture of Hennessy V.S.O.P, jasmine, and Angostura orange. Or if you like something strong, you can taste Hennessy on ice.

This collaboration is very memorable, this is not my first experience tasting chef Renatta's signature dishes, it's always fun. The combination of typical Indonesian flavors that are processed with modern techniques, as well as a slick presentation. Each element used produces a harmonious taste that fits and is mutually sustainable but not excessive. I certainly look forward to chef Renatta's next collaboration with other restaurants. Hopefully yes.
