This time I want to tell you about the experience of eating
at a Hot Pot restaurant which is currently trendy, but before it, there's a
bit of news about Jakarta getting exhausted with the spread of the Delta type of the Covid virus which is known to spread faster with more varied symptoms. A rapidly increasing number of Covid patients is a concern for the Indonesian
government, both for the health and economic impact of the Indonesian.
Taking a break from the news of Covid that currently fills
all digital media, I want to tell you about the invasion of Chinese hot pot
dishes that are also spreading in every corner of Jakarta. PIK is one of the
popular tourist destinations for Jakartans today where there are new cafes and
restaurants with millennial and instagramable concepts.
A few weeks ago I visited Hong Yun Hot Pot which could be an
option for you, fans of Chinese-style hot pot dishes. The magnificent interior
looks from the outside like a typical Chinese building with large pillars. At
dinner time, the restaurant activities are quite busy but this restaurant has a
lot of seating capacity and besides that, there is a 2nd-floor area as well as a
private room for 6-8 people.
The menu concept is quite common when compared to hot pot
restaurants in general. Here you can choose a variety of soups from broth to
spicy and available mix soup in one pot so you can enjoy different flavors. The
choice of food ingredients is varied, ranging from vegetables, chicken, beef,
pork, seafood, and various meatballs. In accordance with the concept of Chinese
dishes, various offal ingredients are also provided here, which has indeed
become one of the popular dishes for those who like it.
The price for soup starts from IDR 120,000 ++ with 2 or 3
combinations. The price of the ingredients depends on what kind of meat you
choose, starting from the Szechuan menu, 1 portion of Pork Loin Slices Rp.
48.000, Marinated Beef Tongue Rp. 88.000 to Fresh Pig Yellow Throat Rp.
108.000. For the beef section, the highest price of Beef Wagyu is IDR 258,000.
Then the seafood section is Hokkaido Scallop for Rp. 138,000, Green Lobster for
Rp. 268,000. Don't miss a variety of vegetables, mushrooms, tofu, and other side
dishes starting at IDR 28,000 ++.
The 3 flavor combination soup that I tried, namely, Butter
Oil with a strong mala Szechuan flavor, is not my favorite, with a thick spicy and a dominant bitter taste. Pork Bone Collagen Soup with a more savory,
the right thickness and fragrant aroma and Bamboo Fungus Chicken Soup, the
combination of broth with herbs and spices with a mushroom aroma, fresh and the
right taste.
The experience of eating here we spent around IDR 1,300,000
++ for 6 people with more than 10 types of dishes. As for the taste, it's quite
enjoyable, although I think there are better hot pot restaurants in Jakarta. My
tips are indeed to go to a hot pot restaurant like this, it will be saving more when we are together with about 4-6 friends. Let's have a try and let me know how do you think.
