Hwaro Korean Steakhouse & BBQ, Jakarta

Bahasa l English It's a wonderful weekend, and who doesn't enjoy all-you-can-eat meals? Some of you may have had all-you-can-eat buffets at hotels, or BBQ or shabu-shabu at shopping malls. But what about Korean BBQ with quality ingredients like A5 Wagyu? Well, Hwaro has a Weekend Brunch concept with all-you-can-eat menus. Let me start with the inside. From the outside, the restaurant appears to be an ordinary four-story facility with plenty of parking. You're already familiar with Jakarta's Senopati district, which is known for its valet parking service. Once inside, the space is truly stunning! An exquisite atmosphere with dark tones and fascinating details, particularly the fabric hanging across the restaurant area that resembles rolling clouds. Ethnic designs can also be seen in different corners.   The first floor is the main eating area, and the higher stories are entirely individual rooms of varied sizes. Each table has a grill, but in keeping with the h...

Fukuoka Ramen's Journey, Japan

Bahasa l English Japan is one of the most popular travel destinations. This time, instead of going to Tokyo, Osaka, or Kyoto, I visited Fukuoka for the first time. Fukuoka is located in the north and is the capital of Kyushu. Hotel recommendations include staying in the Hakata or Tenjin neighborhoods, which are popular areas near shopping complexes, restaurants, and tourist attractions. Each region in Japan has a distinct culinary culture, beginning with Mentaiko, Fukuoka's flagship product, and continuing with Yatai, a well-known street food concept that only exists in Fukuoka, and Fukuoka is the birthplace of famous ramen such as Ichiran, Hakata Ikkousha, and many others. Let me tell you about my ramen culinary journey in Fukuoka. 1. Shin Shin I was unable to check into my hotel the early morning I arrived in Fukuoka, so I left my suitcase with the receptionist. Since I was in the Tenjin neighborhood, I immediately sought an intriguing culinary place for breakfast. Near th...

Bagel Season, Union, Jakarta

Bahasa l English This May, Union Jakarta, a well-known high-end dining, launched a new innovation. Perhaps you're already familiar with a bagel, but there's a new way to enjoy it here. At the time of launching, this Bagel is exclusively accessible at Union Plaza Senayan, from the front, you can see the Bagel Bar with a rather large showcase. Bagels come in a variety of flavors, including plain, salt, parmesan, blueberry, chocolate chips, cinnamon raisin, and (Almost) Everything. Bagels are priced at IDR 25,000 per piece. The texture of the bagel varies from soft to chewy, and it is best savored warm rather than dry. In my perspective, the plain one is a wonderful, traditional, and basic bagel. Even more interesting, here they also provide dipping sauce with various choices of Butter and Cheese Cream, there are also many choices, a variety of unique flavors that I have never seen before. Starting from the fragrant Chimichurri, the savory Alla Vodka, the spicy Scallion Chil...

Kyoten, Jakarta

Bahasa l English What's happening in Jakarta right now? Of course, numerous new eateries and cafes are distributed around the Jakarta area. A Japanese restaurant that caters to the tastes of the Jakarta community is currently a popular choice. This time, I had the pleasure to visit Kyoten, a premium Japanese restaurant in South Jakarta. It is very lovely, beginning with the entrance and continuing through an elegant hallway. The high-end theme is evident throughout the restaurant area. Large seating capacity, ranging from the bar and sofa to three private rooms that can accommodate up to ten people in each room. Of course, selecting from a menu with a huge selection will take some time. The primary menu items are sushi and robatayaki, but there is also sashimi, fresh oysters, donburi, and premium beef. In this story, I recommend various cuisines that you should eat that will undoubtedly impress you. Starting with Robatayaki, there are various options available, including T...

Bangkok's Songkran 2025

Bahasa l English Thailand is undoubtedly a must-see vacation during the Songkran season in April. Of course, this time I didn't pass up the opportunity to experience the excitement of the water festival, which is always packed with people from around the world. Taking place from April 12 to 15, 2025, people assemble, particularly in the Silom region, for a car-free day from 1:00 to 9:00 p.m., where everyone brings water guns, from children to adults, and enjoys the water shooting game, which gives laughter and fun. On this occasion, I always seek out and sample a variety of culinary delights from unique or popular shops, restaurants, and cafés throughout Bangkok. As is customary, I create an itinerary before embarking on a vacation to better manage my schedule and destinations to visit. Of course, there will be intriguing locations we pass while visiting some streets around downtown. Well, this time I'm sharing a variety of culinary experiences in Bangkok, ranging from th...
