As a fan of French gourmet, this is good news for me. A new French restaurant opened this month with a classic and elegant interior theme. Before Pierre, this area was Emily's restaurant which was also a French food concept. After being closed for several years, Pierre is here and they are none other than the Union Group which is a restaurant group with popular brands in Jakarta.
Once in Pierre, guests will be checked the temperature as usual. Once inside, the restaurant interior looks very attractive, elegant, with a classic touch combined with French-style music so that it feels luxurious. Late lunch around 2.00pm but it looks quite crowded, it would be better if you make a reservation in advance. The spot I booked is really charming, a brighter area decorated with classic photo frames so it becomes a great photo spot.
In accordance with the restaurant concept, the menu offered is a variety of classic French dishes that are quite familiar to me. The menu I tried this time is like the Charcuterie Platter which is a favorite dish of French people. Here consists of Chicken Liver Paté, Serrano Ham, Duck Saucisson, you can choose two kinds of Rilette between duck, pork, or salmon, then Cornichons, Lentils, and complete with Baguette. This menu can be used as an appetizer and sharing for several people and is priced at IDR 295,000 ++.
Then there's Escargot served with Tomato Fondue, Garlic Parsley Butter. Escargot with a perfect cook, fragrant aroma, and taste. A hint of acidity from the tomatoes feels fresh and parsley with a distinctive aroma. This dish is also served with a baguette. This menu price is IDR 95,000 ++
One of the favorite menus here is L'entrecote au Poivre, so this is Black Angus beef with white Peppercorn Crust and Brandy Cream Sauce. This menu is available with two choices of 250gr at a price of IDR 475,000 ++ and 500gr at a price of IDR 895,000 ++. We ordered beef with medium, it did look a little too rare. However, the quality of the ingredients is one of the keys to a dish, the texture of the beef is well enough, the cutting is good. It's just that the seasoning is not evenly distributed.
Overall my favorite is the Charcuterie Platter dish with the composition of quality ingredients and the perfect blend of flavors from one element to another. Chicken liver paté is also processed perfectly, the aroma is just right, even though I usually not into the chicken liver. For the rillette, I chose to duck and salmon it also has a really interesting taste and not too excessive.
For the price, this restaurant is classified as high-end, where you will spend a minimum of IDR 300,000 per person for the main course and non-alcoholic drinks. Service is ok, serving timing is also fast. A little problem with flies in the restaurant, but the team is quite responsive.
